I had stopped working, so I was now free to absent\-mindedly clean the flat and go over the same spots repeatedly…  I wanted to call Mum\. I wanted to call my best friend\. Hubby was at work and we had both agreed not to tell any of our friends until we had hit the 3\-month mark, which felt so far away\. But, 5 weeks pregnant no symptoms at all felt completely weird to me\. I felt very un\-pregnant\. Are you pregnant? Grab your free pregnancy pack now \- details inside\! I want my pregnancy pack\! I was half\-expecting to run to the toilet and throw up, but I felt nothing\. When did nausea set in? How bad was my morning sickness going to be? When will I start showing? Where are the physical and emotional symptoms? So many questions\! I just wanted to switch my mind off for five minutes, so that I could relax a little, but I couldn’t\. I felt scared and even lonely\. I had no idea how this whole pregnancy malarkey was going to pan out and what was going to happen in the next 35 weeks\. Where would I build on my knowledge? I wanted to know everything; how the little one grew, what I was going to feel, what I had to do to look after myself and the baby, etc\. I didn’t even know where to look for information, so I consulted my old friend, Google, and typed ‘pregnant’ into the search box\. A gazillion different pregnancy sites popped up, and I suddenly felt overwhelmed, so I turned off my laptop and went for a walk around the park instead\. I had picked the wrong time in the afternoon to venture out, as the park was crowded with lots of mums and babies going about their businesses\. I sat down on a nearby - [4 weeks pregnant \- No symptoms at all and it feels strange](https://motherhooddiaries.com/4-weeks-pregnant-no-symptoms/): I was only a week late for my period, but I had known straight away that something was not quite right with my insides\. I didn't experience any of the normal PMS symptoms \(except for the mood swings\), and I wasn't bloated like I normally am in the run up to my period\. Was I stressed? Did I have my dates wrong? Were my husband and I careful? - [Natural remedies for anxiety in children](https://motherhooddiaries.com/natural-remedies-for-anxiety-in-children/): \<\!\-\- wp:paragraph \-\-\> \\This article is Part 5 of a 5\-part series on \How to reduce anxiety in your children\. \If you missed the first four parts, you can find them below:\\ \<\!\-\- /wp:paragraph \-\-\> \<\!\-\- wp:list \-\-\> \\\\Part 1 of 5 – Introducing anxiety\\\\\\Part 2 of 5 – Understanding anxiety and its impact on the body\\\\\\Part 3 of 5 – What maintains anxiety?\\\\\\Part 4 of 5 – Problem\-solving and Worry Time\\\\ \<\!\-\- /wp:list \-\-\> \<\!\-\- wp:paragraph \-\-\> \In the last article, we talked about \postponing our worries in a Worry Box until Worry Time\, where we could then problem\-solve our realistic thoughts or take our unrealistic thoughts to court\. \ \<\!\-\- /wp:paragraph \-\-\> \<\!\-\- wp:paragraph \-\-\> \In this article, we are going to discuss the following: \ \<\!\-\- /wp:paragraph \-\-\> \<\!\-\- wp:list \-\-\> \\\The vicious circle of avoidance and anxiety\ \\\Break the vicious circle – exposure in small steps\ \\\Toolbox to help reduce anxiety in you and your children\ \\ \<\!\-\- /wp:list \-\-\> - [14 weeks pregnant \- symptoms of fatigue are getting to me](https://motherhooddiaries.com/14-weeks-pregnant-symptoms/): \<\!\-\- wp:paragraph \-\-\> \\I a\ttended\ a friend’s birthday on Saturday, which involved some “light” lunch and watching England v USA in the world cup, at a really busy pub\. I felt really uncomfortable as I wasn’t able to sit in one place for too long, but the place was crammed and the toilets were quite far away\. I still had to endure that horrible taste in my mouth after \the lunch\, so resorted to water for the rest of the night \(after drinking one too many pineapple juices\)\. By the end of the \match\ I felt physically and emotionally drained\. As I walked home with hubby, I burst into tears\. I think it was due to exhaustion and hormones, but I kept thinking, “Is this it for me and my social life now?” I felt like I wasn’t ready to give up my youth just yet and that made me cry even more\. On top of that, I had a really bad headache, which I put down to the excessive crying\. Hubby reassured me that I was going to be a great mum and that I could enjoy going out properly after the baby was born\. I got home and crashed out for about 12 hours\. I needed my energy as I had another birthday to go to the next day\! Thankfully this was for only a couple of hours\. \\ \<\!\-\- /wp:paragraph \-\-\> \<\!\-\- wp:paragraph \-\-\> \\Getting up on Monday morning was a nightmare\. I couldn’t open my eyes at work all day and walked around like a zombie\. I couldn’t believe Saturday night had drained me so much, so I made a mental note to wait until after I’d given birth to try so much again\. Getting home was also torturous\. Everyone at Green Park tube station were like vipers trying to get onto the same tube\. I got pushed back and forth, and at one point, someone accidentally pushed my belly\. It wasn’t hard, but I jumped at him and told him to, “Stop standing on top of me\. I’m a pregnant lady\!” What made it worse was that I was desperate to go to the loo, even though I’d been just before I left work\.  A really nice lady heard me and ushered me to the front and made sure no one pushed me, which was really sweet of her\. On the way home, I was secretly worried about whether there was any damage as I felt a few cramps afterwards… The next day I asked work if I could change my hours, so I wouldn’t have to deal with that rush hour again\. \\ \<\!\-\- /wp:paragraph \-\-\> - [11 weeks pregnant \- How long does morning sickness last?](https://motherhooddiaries.com/11-weeks-pregnant-how-long-morning-sickness-last/): 11 weeks pregnant and time had been travelling really slowly\. I think it may be down to the really nasty nausea that I had somehow picked up in the last week\. So, I resorted to buying ginger ale \(which I’ve never drunk before, but tasted really nice\) and having a collection of ginger biscuits by my bedside, so I could pop some in my mouth as soon as I woke up\. But the morning sickness was relentless\. I'd wake up in the morning with a sick feeling in my stomach like I was about to throw up, but I wouldn't actually throw up\. I honestly didn't know what was worse – feeling nauseous and not throwing up or actually throwing up\! Perhaps I should have been thankful that I wasn't spewing everywhere and I felt I owed that to the ginger biscuits which were the only things I could eat\. ## Elements - [Women's Health](https://motherhooddiaries.com/?kadence_element=parenting-menu-2) - [Parenting Menu](https://motherhooddiaries.com/?kadence_element=parenting-menu) - [Labour \& Birth Menu](https://motherhooddiaries.com/?kadence_element=pregnancy-menu-2-2) - [Pregnancy Menu](https://motherhooddiaries.com/?kadence_element=pregnancy-menu) - [Preconception Menu](https://motherhooddiaries.com/?kadence_element=pregnancy-menu-2) ## Products - [Ekouaer Women’s Nursing/Delivery/Labor/Hospital Nightdress Short Sleeve Maternity Nightgown with Button S\-XXL](https://motherhooddiaries.com/product/ekouaer-womens-nursing-delivery-labor-hospital-nightdress-short-sleeve-maternity-nightgown-with-button-s-xxl/): Nursing, delivery, labour and hospital short\-sleeved nightgown made from 95% rayon and 5% spandex, so it is a great stretchy fabric to fit the growing bump and after birth\.
