Little Angels was created by a mother who struggled to find the information she needed from the shops she visited after the birth of her first child. So she created her own shop, which offered parents informative advice on top of the most-needed products to support their growing kids.
Little Angels is now a one-stop-shop for parents, selling over 50 brands and tons of products, sometimes on sale, including Moses baskets for baby. A new flagship store was opened in Nottingham in 2019.
A little about Clair de lune
Clair de lune produces nursery bedding collections, sheets and blankets, as well as a range of pushchair and car seat accessories for modern parents and their little ones.
What is the Clair de lune Wicker Moses Basket with Stand?
The Moses basket with mattress is a cocoon-like pod for baby to sleep from birth up to the maximum weight of 9kg (or until baby can roll over, pull themselves up or sit unaided). I would say the cutoff point to using the Noah Pod® would be around five months old.
The Noah Pod® is made in the UK and has Waffle cotton fabrics which are soft and breathable. The material is finished with star prints and a sleepy moon with an integrated hood which is made from handwoven, lightweight and sturdy wicker.
The Moses Basket or Noah Pod® also comes with an exclusive Wrapover® dressing, which pads and covers the edge of the wicker internally and externally so baby is kept comfortable and there are no sharp edges.
How much is the Moses Basket and Stand? What do you get in the package, and where can you buy Clair de Lune Wicker Moses Basket?
The Moses Basket and Stand bundle currently costs £166.48* and comes with two handles, coverlet, padded liner, and mattress. If you buy the bundle, you save £18.50*.
The bassinet can be bought on its own for £184.98* but you can buy the additional Moses Basket Stand for £22.49* if you buy with the Noah Pod®. If you buy separately, the price is £24.99*.
The Noah Pod® is also available in Blue, Grey and Pink and comes boxed and ready to use (only the stand needs building).
How long will Moses Baby Basket with Stand take to be delivered?
Little Angels offer free next day delivery if ordered after 2pm to all mainland UK addresses on orders over £50.00. However, if your order contains an “out of stock” item, then it will show the expected date in the order summary and Little Angels will try to stay within that timeframe.
If you order by 2pm on a working day, Little Angels will ship the product the same day.
All other orders will be subject to a delivery charge, which is £5.00 on orders under £50.00.
Little Angels can also deliver products internationally subject to their pricing policy and supplier limitations. You can find the delivery charges in Section 5.3 here,

First impressions of the Moses Basket Bassinet with Stand
My first impression of the Noah Pod® is that it looks so stylish. The handwoven wicker adds a fairy tale touch to the Moses Basket. Baby Amelia looked safe and comfortable in her own little rocking baby crib.
Was the Clair De Lune Grey Wicker Noah Pod® Over the Moon with Grey Stand easy to use/put together?
It was very easy to set up. The Moses basket comes ready with a mattress and you can put together the rocking stand in minutes. The inserts are easy to place inside the basket and they felt very secure, so I wasn’t worried about excess material hanging over the baby.
How to use the Clair De Lune Grey Wicker Noah Pod® Over the Moon with Grey Stand
You place baby in the basket when they are sleeping or resting and you can rock baby to sleep using the stand’s rocking motion. You can also carry the Noah Pod® around the house as long as the baby isn’t inside. The basket is not designed for baby to be carried around in.
Was the Moses Basket and stand easy to use/comfortable?
The Noah Pod® was very comfortable for Amelia and she loved sleeping in the basket, often for long periods. Little Angels also provided us with some lovely linen sheets and blankets which are very soft and high quality, so they helped provide Amelia with good quality sleep.
What are the pros of using the Moses basket and stand?
The basket is light with long handles to help you move around the house, so baby can sleep in any room you are stationed. The stand rocks the basket gently without waking baby up, but if they’re unsettled, the rocking motion helps baby go back to sleep.
The premium quality design, comfortable inserts, and easy-to-assemble stand makes the Moses Basket a doddle to use, especially after birth when mum needs to sit/lay in certain positions in the house. You can place the Moses Basket by the bed and there’s no need to get up. It’s the right height for lifting baby in and out of the pod while you’re in bed.
What are the cons of using the Moses basket with stand?
Sometimes the handle straps can get in the way when you take baby in and out of the basket. They are perhaps a bit too long.
The baby can only really use the Moses basket until around five months, depending on their size, so it has a short shelf life before baby needs to move onto a larger bedside crib or a cot. The basket can become a little narrow, which may not be so comfortable for them when they are older.
Are Moses Baskets with Stands worth the money?
Moses baskets for babies are the perfect transition from womb to cot and I’ve used them for all four of my children. They’re small enough to mimic the tiny space of the womb so that baby feels safe and not overwhelmed by the grandeur of a cot so soon after birth. They’re normally cheaper than other baby beds, but that is because the period in which the baby can use them is shorter. But they are definitely worth the money.
The Moses Basket is easy to use. Simply place the basket on the stand (make sure it slots into place properly) and then baby is ready to go. The inserts are simple to take off and wash. The handles can sometimes impede carrying the basket around or taking baby out, but it’s only a minor issue.

Fits the purpose
The Moses Basket helps baby transition from womb to bassinet with as little trauma as possible. We have always used Moses Baskets for the first four to five months because we found it the easiest to help baby sleep at night. With three of my four births involving some birth trauma, I particularly found the Moses basket useful because I could place it wherever I was stationed and recovering.

Style and comfort
The Moses basket has a beautiful grey woven basket that just glides effortlessly with the nursery decor. It looks like a little angel’s palace.

Controls/functionality
If it’s possible, a little baby changing basket, or storage basket / shelf would work inside the stand, but otherwise it’s used for simplicity and simple is what it is. No gimmicks, no gizmos, just a bassinet for baby to sleep in.
4 out of 5
Value for money
A touch pricey but definitely worth the price when you pair it with premium quality material which keeps baby secure.

What is my overall opinion of the Clair de Lune Grey Wicker Noah Pod® Over the Moon Wicker Moses Basket with Rocker Stand?
The Wicker Noah Pod® is a premium quality Moses basket with an affordable price tag. Amelia slept comfortably in it for five months and, even though the handles were sometimes a bit of a nuisance, all the material used was such high quality that I never feared for her safety.
Considering the time baby spends sleeping in a Moses basket, it was worth the price. We added black and white patterns so baby could play in the basket too. Perhaps some lower-priced options could offer the same functionality, but if it’s premium quality you’re looking for, then this is the basket for you.
Divorce is difficult for everyone, and when you have the feelings of young children to consider too, it can be doubly challenging.
Legal advice from family lawyers like Wiselaw will establish your legal position for shared parenting, but what about guidance on supporting your child during the process? Although children need love and support during these troubled times, how to tell your kids about a divorce is based on some routine things you can expect and basic tips to follow to help you through this time. We’ve compiled some basic pointers on how to tell your kids about divorce.
‘If you love someone and you break up, where does the love go?’ Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
What is divorce?
Divorce is the process of terminating a marriage or marital union. Divorce usually entails the canceling or reorganising of the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage, thus dissolving the bonds of matrimony between a married couple under the rule of law of the particular country or state.
How do you tell your child about divorce without breaking them?
The collateral damage suffered by children when couples split up varies from family to family and depends on several factors. How they react depends on what to tell your child about divorce, their age, their personalities, and the particular circumstances in which the divorced parents find themselves.
Unfortunately, the stress of divorce is experienced by thousands of children every year and it is in everyone’s interests to make the painful journey more bearable. Initially, when considering how to tell kids about separation, parents must consider the wide range of emotions the kids will go through, i.e. sadness, helplessness, loneliness, anger, and betrayal. But, if handled properly, a newfound strength and inner resolve can derive from the healing process. Therefore, it is so important you know how to tell your child about divorce in the proper way.
What you can expect from your child after divorce
Very young children aged between 18 months to five years can regress into behaviours typical of a younger age group as a coping mechanism for the stress they’re feeling. Going back to using a dummy, wetting the bed, or becoming clingier with either or both parents is quite normal if this is the case.
Young children and babies are tuned into their parents’ emotions even though they cannot verbalise this. Over time, they will understand the decision you made, but this won’t happen straight away. A young child growing up with divorcing parents will be scared.
When to tell your child about divorce – The first bit is the hardest
The initial stages of a divorce, whether that’s a year or even two years, are often the time when it’s hardest for children. The changes that happen during this period, for example, one parent moving out of the family home, are a big shift in a child’s world and they can react by experiencing anxiety, anger and shock.
Go to them first before they suspect – talking to kids about divorce first
No child wants to hear that their parents no longer love each other, but they may have guessed that for themselves if public rowing has taken place. So it is better to come from you than to leave them second guessing or, worse still, get the wrong end of the stick.
As hard as it may sound, try to come to an agreement with your partner/spouse about how to talk to your kids about divorce and be as consistent as you can with your message. If possible, both of you should be present when you sit down to discuss things with your child/children. and try to pre-empt some questions you may get asked so that you are fully prepared because, in an emotional situation like this, it is easy to go ‘off message’. When thinking about how to talk to your child about divorce, explain what the stages of divorce for a child would mean, but don’t overwhelm them.
National Charity Place2Be and National Association of Teachers (NAHT) state that more must be done by the Government to help protect the mental health of children during a divorce. There seems to be a notable increase in pupils experiencing low self-esteem and depression.
How to tell children about divorce – Toddlers
Toddlers will need support from parents by creating and sticking to solid routines to provide comfort and safety. A child’s primary bond is with their parents at this stage, so big changes can have a profound effect and a small child may look inwards to find a reason for their parent’s divorce. As a result, they can have sleeping problems and fear being alone. As well as a predictable schedule, parents should plan to spend one-on-one time their child, for example, playing a game or reading a book together, focussing all efforts on that child.
How to tell kids about divorce – 3 – 5 years
Some pre-schoolers may feel responsible for what has happened and concerned about what is going to happen in the future. It’s common for children at this age to experience nightmares and bottled-up emotions too. Although divorce can present challenges, parents should try to adopt a positive approach and avoid blame and negativity, as children will pick up on these emotions.
How to talk to children about divorce – Older children
Older children are going through their own growth pains and can often experience a fluctuation of emotions. They may be old enough to understand the reasons behind divorce, but they are still too young to compartmentalise that the divorce isn’t about them and you don’t love them any less. It’s important at this stage to not place blame, invite questions and give them time to get their head around it all.
What else you can do to support your child during divorce – How to divorce without hurting your child
When a young child is feeling anxious or uncertain about the future, it can help to explain what has happened using simple and age-appropriate language, while reassuring them that both parents love them very much. In addition, you can try one of the many children’s books available to help you communicate effectively with your child about divorce.
If one parent has moved out of the home, explain to your child when they will see that parent again. Children can often feel reassured when there is a place for them at another home already organised.
Some pre-schoolers maintain hope that their parents will reunite, especially if the divorce is being handled convivially. It’s important to be gentle but clear to children and explain that you and the other parent won’t be living together again in the same house but will always be there for them.
Because young children cannot comprehend the complexity of divorce, they may be concerned that they, too, are going to be divorced from a parent. This is when you will need to provide extra reassurance to your child that you won’t be leaving them, but you just won’t be living in the same house as their other parent again.
Try to keep the routine going
Talking to kids about divorce is especially difficult when you know uncertainty about the future ahead is often a child’s biggest concern. Try to be truthful in answering all of their questions. It is important to your child (especially younger children) that their normal routine is going to be as disrupted as little as possible.
Knowing that Mum is still going to take them to swimming lessons every week and Dad is going to do the school run may seem trivial to you at the time but these little things, if handled properly, can go towards making the bigger picture seem a little less scary. Offer as much child support as you can to cushion the disruption of their routine.
If you are going through the divorce process, there are lots of places you can turn to for support. Look at the government’s website for information about how to talk to kids about divorce and divorce mediation. Once you are ready to take the practical steps towards annulling your marriage, choose a family law solicitor and divorce coach or divorce mediator to take you through the process. If you need emotional support, Relate is also worth a visit and they can help you work out how to tell your child about your divorce.
Going through a divorce when you have young children is a testing time for parents. Practical arrangements need to be made and emotional well-being needs to be a priority too. Taking steps to reassure your child during the process will bolster the innate resilience many children possess.

Mothers Day pamper: best gift Ideas for new mums
Mother’s Day is a day where mum gets to expect a red carpet, breakfast in bed and to be waited on hand and feet throughout the day. Well, this is what one would expect when it’s your first mother’s day, but you’ll quickly cotton on that you’ll have to dictate what you want for your special Mothers Day pamper session if there is to be any kind of special treatment as far as first Mother’s Day gifts are concerned!
So, what are some different things to do on Mother’s Day? Motherhood Diaries has come up with an article containing 40 creative Mother’s Day pamper ideas that I suggest you put forward to your partner and little ones, so they can take a hint – or 39.
1. Book her a hotel room for the night.
One of the great ways to pamper your mum this Mothers Day is to give her the gift of peace. Becoming a mum for the first time is quite the culture shock to your social life, so be prepared for the odd pang of yearning to go out and do something other than stare at the same four walls in the house.
A hotel room for one night where mum can just be a woman and not a baby mother or a wife, does wonders to the mental health. But, if that’s not possible and you can’t separate from the baby, then there are tons of affordable family-centric hotels out there, for example, a 4-star hotel in London that’s affordable, from a considerate and reputable hotel chain such as Dorsett Hotels. Luxury doesn’t always have to come at a premium cost, and a hotel can be family-friendly and fancy all at once.
2. Personalised gifts with her favourite photo uploaded
Photo gifts are great because they can transform everyday objects into something more personalised and special, especially when you add messages on mother’s day that offer a personalised experience. Just choose your favourite picture or design (you could use sublimation designs) of whatever you like, and upload it onto an everyday object, like a mug.
Or even have the little ones draw a picture for you and upload, then you’ve got yourself a personalised mug* just for mum. You could pack in mum’s favourite tea or coffee, biscuits, and cakes. Or, for extra man/kiddie points, have your little ones bring her a morning coffee in it – first thing too.
If your kids love all things arty (or just love making a beautiful mess) why not look into having them make something for her? It doesn’t have to be anything too difficult as she probably won’t be expecting the next Michael Angelo’s ‘David’, but she’ll appreciate the thought you’ll have all gone to and it’s something she’ll want to keep forever.
Anything with handprints is a good place to start as it’s really easy and you can make loads of pictures out of them. The kids will no doubt love doing it, too. Add happy first mother’s day quotes to make her smile and the kids’ work of art will be golden.
Pampering relaxation ideas for mum this Mothers Day can include jewellery. Jewellery* is always a winner especially as first Mother’s Day gifts goes. Personalised bracelets* are reasonably priced and you can add the initials of your little ones on the bracelet, or a 1st mother’s day message too. Thinking outside the box like this will definitely earn you some brownie points. I love these personalised bracelets of my children’s names made by Handmade by M7* below!
If you’re thinking about how to pamper mum on Mother’s Day and you’re coming up with blanks then just give her the chance to pamper herself! She’d probably appreciate nothing more than winding downtime, so for a gift that costs nothing, why don’t the rest of the family be in charge of all the responsibilities for the day? Breakfast in bed, a candlelit bath, a three-course meal and a tidy house will make her day (as well as probably leave her gobsmacked). You could watch Mum’s favourite films all day and eat her favourite snacks. Save her some, though!
6. The gift of sleep
Special ways to pamper your mum this Mothers Day can include the gift of sleep. If children are too young to understand and still wake up in the middle of the night, then try to take over some of the shift work. Then allow her a much-needed lie-in, greeting her with number 33 and number 38 ASAP.
7. Grow her own garden
If she’s green-fingered but never gets the chance to go out in the garden, then get her a ‘Grow your own garden’ box which offers her everything needed in a box to grow her own herbs, like this Grow It Herb Garden from The Gift Experience, which includes the flowerpot, the soil and the seeds to grow from scratch.
8. Personalised pocket mirror
Help mum to look her best all hours of the day with a lovely personalised pocket mirror like this engraved dragonfly mirror from The Gift Experience. You can add lovely 1st mother’s day quotes too to add to the special experience.
9. Fix something around the house
I’m sure there are tons of house chores on the to-do list that haven’t been seen yet, like a leaky tap, a hanging door or chipped paint. Give her a Mother’s Day she won’t forget by fixing something in the house which will help her get on with her daily duties more quickly.
10. A clean house
A clean house will make mum really happy so she doesn’t have to spend her special day cleaning up after you guys. But, keep the house clean from now on – no point in just giving her a clean house for one day then destroying it afterwards!
11. Her favourite takeaway and movie
Mum will probably be tired after a long day. And, perhaps, she hasn’t had the chance to take Mother’s Day off to do something she really likes. So why not feed her a favoured takeaway and movie that she can enjoy in peace? If the movie is child-friendly, invite the whole family to watch and spend some much-needed family time together.
12. Bake her goodies
Mum loves an at home pamper pamper day full of gifts made with love, especially if it’s from her favourite people. Bake her some special goodies, like cookies or even a Mother’s Day cake and put it in a nice gift basket – but clean the kitchen afterwards so you don’t stress her out!
13. Write her a letter
Writing mum a letter on Mother’s Day means she can keep your special letter long after Mother’s Day is over – make it an extra special letter from the heart, with some happy 1st mother’s day quotes inside so mum can take it out and read time and time again when she needs a pick-me-up.
14. A takeaway mug
Mum needs liquid help to carry out tasks throughout the day. So, help her out by buying her a takeaway coffee mug like the above Little Miss Sunshine Takeaway Travel Mug from The Gift Experience, so that she can enjoy a much-needed boost when running you guys around in between activities!
Enhance a pampering day with ESPA’s Soothing Herbal Tea Infusion, a perfect complement to the Little Miss Sunshine Takeaway Mug. This tea blends the calming flavours of Honeybush, Rooibos, Rose Petals, and Ashwagandha, offering a sip of relaxation. It’s vegan, caffeine-free, and comes in eco-friendly biodegradable pyramids.
Simply steep for 3 minutes for a peaceful pause in Mum’s day. Paired with the mug, it’s a thoughtful way to encourage relaxation and self-care on Mother’s Day.
15. Make her fancy bath and body gifts for homemade bath pamper sets
Pampering mum self-care gifts for Mothers Day can include home pamper kits with fancy bath goodies that she can sink into after a long days’ work, like bath bombs (here’s a recipe for a bath bomb from Red Ted Art) and/or this lavender and calendula bath soak from Blue Bear Wood which is great for sensitive skin – and even kids too!
Pamper her with lovely beauty products like the Mio Skincare’s Heavenly Body Exfoliating Body Scrub* which can add an extra layer of luxury to the special day. This exfoliating scrub, praised for its ability to smooth and revitalise the skin, embodies the essence of a comforting home spa day for mum. Its blend of natural salt crystals, almond, and coconut oils not only gently exfoliates but also nourishes, leaving the skin soft, hydrated, and glowing. Suitable for use during pregnancy and lactation, it’s a mindful choice for mums at any stage.
For new mum pampering gifts consider incorporating Mio Skincare’s Peachy Cheeks Bum Booster Cream* after a pampering bath. Infused with AHAs and Niacinamide, this marvel of a cream has garnered rave reviews for its efficacy in firming and smoothing the skin. It’s not just about the immediate hydration and softness it imparts; users have noted significant improvements in skin texture and a reduction in the appearance of cellulite within just a few weeks of use.
Its lightweight formula, coupled with a delightful scent, makes it a luxurious addition to any skincare routine.
16. Take her out on a day trip
Maybe mum never gets the chance to go out anymore because she’s stuck working, cleaning and looking after the kids. Find out what’s special on Mother’s Day and take her out for a day she won’t forget. Take lots of photos and videos for a lovely keepsake afterwards.
17. Make her personalised gift cards
Save money on the card by making your own. Mother’s Day cards can be so expensive and they usually just get shoved in a drawer anyway. But, if you make it yourself, with personalised 1st mother’s day messages inside then mum won’t ever throw them away. They’ll be her favourite cards ever.
18. Spend some time together – without gadgets!
Spending time together has been touched upon in other gift ideas, but this should be without gadgets or any other distractions. Spending some time together also doesn’t have to include going out. Perhaps a picnic in the garden (number 20) or a game at home followed by number 11 would afford your mum so much fun on Mother’s Day – a day she won’t forget in a hurry!
19. Spend some time with Mum and get to know her
If mum doesn’t get the chance to spend Mother’s Day doing what she wants, then at least give her the gift of time by getting to know her. Ask her to sit down and have a chat – get to know her by asking what her favourite colour is, what she most enjoys doing on a special day and work on your gift according to her answers. Sometimes mums just need to be heard and acknowledged.
20. Go on a picnic
Just like 18, you don’t need to go out, but a hot picnic prepared by someone else other than mum might be all she needs to have a special Mother’s Day. If the weather is nice, either head out to the garden or go to the nearest park and enjoy a lovely family picnic with mum on Mother’s Day.
21. Wash her car
If mum spends most of her time driving to and from activities, then spend some time washing her car because she will be grateful that she didn’t have to do it herself and she can get on with much-needed pampering activities.
22. Buy her favourite book – and give her time to read it
If mum is a reader but never gets the chance to read, work on number 19, by asking her what her favourite book genre is, and then find out where you can buy a book that she’d enjoy reading. But let her read it in peace. Mother’s Day is all about making mum feel special, so if she needs number 24 and a book – then that’s what she should enjoy.
23. Make her a box of keepsake gifts that pamper
Mums love little keepsakes, especially when they’re made from her darling children. Perhaps have a hunt around for what she has not thrown away and fill up a little box of keepsake gifts to pamper Mum like a cute personalised book for the baby. For example, the ‘Baby, Where Are You?’ personalised lift-the-flap book allows mum to pull out the slot-in card from the cover and write her baby’s name on the card, so her baby can become part of the search-and-find story. It makes for a lovely keepsake! To order from Amazon, click here* or the image below:
Add as many of the gift ideas in this article to the box and Mum will have a lovely keepsake that she can treasure forever.
“Brown paper packages tied up with string, here are a few of your favourite things. Include her favourite chocolate bar, gin in a tin (or similar, hand cream etc…”
24. Set up a spa-like environment and throw in number 15 for the ultimate bath experience
Mothers day pamper gifts must include scented relaxation candles (lavender is good choice for relaxing gifts for mum) (like number 35), which you can dart around the bath, so the main light can be dimmed. Then lay out some towels, and fill up the bath with number 15. Hand her number 22, put some nice relaxation/mindfulness music on and let her enjoy a spa-like experience on Mother’s Day.
Allow her the ability to wash her hair with quality products that leave her feeling fabulous. For Mother’s Day, consider treating her curly hair to Grow Gorgeous’s Curl Defining Leave-In Butter, priced at £25.00 for 200ml. This special hair butter is designed to make curls bouncy, frizz-free, and well-nourished. It’s packed with natural ingredients like Wheat Extract, Camellia Oil, and Cocoa Butter to keep curls looking their best. Plus, it’s vegan-friendly and free from harsh chemicals.

Mum can embrace the power of caffeine, hyaluronic acid, and a blend of precious oils for hair that shines with health and vitality. She can discover her perfect spa gift haircare routine with Grow Gorgeous and transform her hair into its best version yet.
25. Take out a subscription
Maybe mum loves beauty or healthy food, in which case you will Mothers Day pamper ideas in a subscription that keeps on giving. If she likes reading, then find out what her favourite magazine is and take out a subscription. Fun things to do with your mum on mother’s day could be a subscription to an experience day that will put a massive smile on her face. She’ll be grateful for the thought and the time to unwind or simply turn the page of her favourite book/magazine every week/month.
26. Buy her a gift experience
Mothers day pamper packages can include a gift experience, as it will be something different and it will take her mind off her mum duties. Perhaps find some deals for a spa day that includes treatments, or something more bold and daring if she’s the type for adventure. Or you could enrol her in a perfume making course. Make it unique and mum won’t forget Mother’s Day in a hurry!
“Tickets to a show she loves and a nice hotel afterwards. Give her a night that is all about her and a welcome break from the madness of motherhood!”
“A day away from the family and kids – could be a spa day, a day out shopping spree, theatre… a day to relax, rejuvenate and not think about parenting!”
Make mum something that she can wear all the time, or at least carry with her out and about, like a personalised handbag, or a scarf. There are tons of tips and hints on Google or YouTube, so check them out and make her something no one else will have.
Is your mum a bit of a fashionista who loves keeping up with the trends? Perhaps she needs a little help with a wardrobe refresh? Whatever her wardrobe situation, you can’t go wrong with the gift of a new piece of clothing.
28. Buy her a new skincare collection

Does mum use a particular skincare routine and would appreciate you replenishing her products? Then do some detective work and buy her favourite skincare collection for Mother’s Day – she’ll appreciate not having to do this herself.
29. Replenish her makeup bag
Same as number 28. A Mothers Day pamper hamper should include her favourite makeup. Find out what her favourite brands are and buy her some more. She’ll appreciate the thought that has gone into getting her something that she will actually use day after day.
30. Get her a gym membership
This present might be a bit controversial, but make it clear you’re only getting her a gym membership because maybe she has talked about going to the gym, but has not had the chance to take out a membership yet. It won’t be because she needs it. No need to make mum feel fat on Mother’s Day!
31. Get her a canvas of her favourite family photo
A personalised canvas is a great way to immortalise her favourite family snaps on the wall. Find out her favourite pics and perhaps make a collage so she will enjoy staring at the memories that fill her with joy time and time again.
32. Tell her you love her constantly
Pamper your mother on mother’s day with lots of love! Sometimes all mum needs is the reassurance that her kids love her. Telling her you love her constantly will fill her with so much joy. In fact, it’s the reason mums would walk through fire for their kids – she has an unconditional love for her kids and she will do anything for them. So fill her with the same love as well and let her know it!
33. Give her free cuddles – even when she doesn’t ask for it
Mothers day pampering gifts should come with cuddles. Cuddles fill Mum with so much love and they help her forget about her problems. So, when you see mum feeling stressed, or she is busy with yet another chore, then give her some free cuddles, even when she doesn’t ask for any. Your cuddles will be all she will need to get back on the saddle and keep moving.
34. Give her date night
Perhaps mum hasn’t had a chance to spend time with dad. So how about you prepare a meal for both and allow them some time together while you take yourself off to your room (or the living room) and occupy yourself. Sometimes mum needs adult chats to unwind and giving her some of the night to be with her partner will help her feel more energised and relaxed.
35. Make her a homemade candle with her favourite scent
Homemade candles are perfect to go with number 24 and she will enjoy the lovely scent in her room. Candles are easy to make but make sure you’re with an adult to help you make the most awesome unique candles for a happy first Mother’s Day.
36. Make her a hamper full of her favourite things
Ideas for a Mother’s Day pamper hamper can include just a bigger version of number 23 so you can afford to fit more of mum’s favourite things in there. Find out her favourite food and drink, add as many of your homemade gift ideas and fill the hamper to the brim with lots of goodness that mum will enjoy for days to come. You could even add a shirt gift with a funny first mother’s day message on it for that added personalised experience.
“A decent pair of earphones so you can’t hear anyone. That’d do me! :-)”
Mum’s special tea bag holders would be perfect to complement number 8 and she will enjoy using them when she needs her much needed tea. First mother’s day quotes would fit nicely on the teabag holders to make mum smile too.
38. Make her breakfast in bed
Start Mother’s Day off with breakfast in bed and then continue with as many of the gift ideas above as you can. It’s a great way to wake mummy up and let her in that she’s going to have a super special day ahead.
Add a Mother’s Day message on a napkin to show how much she’s loved.
39. Make mum a flower bouquet
Instead of buying flowers which will inevitably die anyway, why not make your own original paper flower bouquet, which mum can keep forever? Add some of her favourite perfume too, for scented flowers as well as a personal Mother’s Day message on a greeting card to make it a unique happy 1st Mother’s Day experience. The Mother’s day quotes for baby mama can be something specific to her, to make it as personalised as possible.

If she’s a fan of art or music, you might create something for her, like a drawing, painting, or even a song if you’re musically inclined. The effort you put into these gifts often make them more valuable than anything you could buy.
Lastly, she may appreciate just the gift of relaxation. You could arrange a tranquil environment for her at home, and make sure she has a quiet afternoon with her favourite book or magazine. Or you could take on extra duties for the day to give her a well-deserved break.

How do I make a nice spa for a mum?
Other questions asked were:
How do I pamper my mum on Mothers Day?
Creating a nice spa experience for your mum at home is a wonderful way to show her love and appreciation. Here’s how you can transform her space into a relaxing retreat:
Prepare the Atmosphere: Start by tidying up the space where the spa day will take place, typically the bathroom. Light scented candles or use an essential oil diffuser with calming scents like lavender, chamomile, or sandalwood. Play soft, soothing music in the background to set a peaceful mood.
DIY Spa Treatments: Gather ingredients for homemade spa treatments. You can make a simple face mask using natural ingredients like honey, yoghurt, and oatmeal. Prepare a sugar or salt body scrub by mixing it with coconut oil and a few drops of essential oil.
Warm Towels: Soak hand towels in warm water with a bit of essential oil, wring them out, and place them in a slow cooker on low to keep them warm. These can be used to wipe off face masks or just for a warm, soothing compress.
Bath Time Luxury: Draw a bath and add bath salts, bubbles, or a bath bomb. If you have them, scatter flower petals for an extra luxurious touch. Ensure there’s a plush bathrobe and slippers ready for her use afterward.
Spa Stations: Set up different ‘stations’ for her spa day, such as a manicure/pedicure area with a selection of nail polishes, files, and lotions. You could also have a facial station with different masks, serums, and moisturisers.
Refreshment Area: Prepare a small refreshment area with spa-day essentials like cucumber-infused water, herbal teas, and light snacks such as fruit or nuts.
Personal Touches: Write her a sweet note expressing your love, placing it somewhere she’ll find during her spa day. You can also offer to be her personal spa technician, assisting with the application of masks, managing the bath, or simply providing company.
Spa Kit Gift: As a memento, put together a spa kit with mini versions of the products used or crafted during the day, so she can recreate the experience whenever she wishes.
Relaxation Time: Make sure she has uninterrupted time to enjoy her spa day. Take care of any chores that might distract her, allowing her to fully relax and rejuvenate.

List of things you need for university
If you are a parent with a child starting university, then this post is for you. If you are a parent with a child who will start university in the future, then this post is also for you.
I remember my first day at university (a long, long time ago!), where I felt very much out of my comfort zone. I had taken a private student loan during my gap year between college and uni and worked to save up for my whopping tuition fees and accommodation costs. However, everything ended up being a lot more expensive than I had initially imagined and, to say that I had learned a lot of difficult financial lessons during my time as a student, was a massive understatement. Student life was harder than I thought!
You don’t want your child living on baked beans on toast throughout university, so a simple education on how to cook basic pasta and rice dishes, along with staple sauces like Bolognese, white/cheese and pesto sauce will encourage a healthy and varied diet, with better results at uni all-round.
A good current bank account with student perks
Lots of bank accounts offer interest-free overdrafts when your child opens up a bank account, along with many other perks like discounts to well-known brands and stores. So, it’s worth shopping around to check which bank account best suits your child’s situation. Moneysavingexpert.com has tons of information on the student current accounts available at the moment, so I’d advise checking there first.
It’s also worth giving your child a lesson in managing their finances. If you need some budgeting tips, check out this article.
A current workable CV to help them get a part-time job at university
If you help your child create a great workable CV, even if it doesn’t include any actual work experience, they will have a good chance of getting a part-time job during university during their job search and stand on their own two feet financially, which will teach them valuable lessons later in life.
Summer school to prepare your child for uni life
Preparing your child for university involves more than just equipping them with practical life skills and essentials. Enrolling them in a pre-university summer school can be a pivotal step. These programs, available for students aged 16-18, offer an immersive experience into university life and studies, significantly enhancing their university applications.
Whether opting for free programs aimed at students from under-represented communities or paid courses covering a variety of subjects, these summer schools provide an invaluable opportunity for your child to explore their academic interests, experience the university environment, and bolster their readiness for higher education.
A laptop means your child can type notes in lectures and complete their assignments in their room, in the library, in the park, at their friend’s house or in a club (whatever floats their boat). You can also keep in contact with them via Skype, email or messenger. A laptop means versatility, security and no excuses to not work!

Simple Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him
Valentine’s Day is coming up (how did that happen!?) and it’s time for us to figure out what to buy for Valentine’s day, but also make sure the gifts don’t seem half-arsed or impersonal. So, I scoured the net and found some Valentine’s day gift ideas that are special enough for that special man in your life (which can also double up as great date night ideas too!) Here are simple Valentine’s Day gifts for him.
A quick getaway trip
For an outdoorsy Valentine’s day surprise for him would be a quick getaway trip with just the two of you, kid-free and enjoying life. A wooden docking station
Useful gifts for men for Valentine’s Day always go down well, especially if it’s a wooden docking station to house his manly essentials.
Simple Valentine’s Day gifts for him – A personalised wallet
My husband walked around with a tattered wallet for years before I decided he needed to say goodbye to it forever. Wallets make great gifts for men for Valentine’s day, so I went on the hunt for a decent wallet that would house his cards, notes and coins. I thought it would take me minutes, but it turned out to be a selection headache, because of the sheer volume of wallets available online.
I found a personalised service and stumbled upon an online company called Farrar & Tanner, which offers an impressive selection of high-quality personalised wallets you can gift wrap and offer as an awesome Valentine gift for men.
Your man is up and about all the time, so buying him a nice pair of boots made for walking to work, dropping the kids to school/activities and going on great dates (with you of course) would seem the ideal and practical choice for Valentine’s Day. Jacamo has a great selection of boots made just for walking and that’s just what they’ll do!

If you want the perfect Valentine’s day gift for men then keep your man trim and looking good with a shaving/grooming kit. My husband spends ages working on his beard and he shaves his head every other day. So, the Braun Series 7 Electric Shaver with Travel Case would be one of my Valentine’s gifts for him, as he’ll fully use it.
A day without the kids
You don’t have to always buy gifts on Valentine’s Day. Ship the kids off to the grandparents or hire a babysitter and take the day together. You could stroll along the park, go to the cinema, enjoy a nice meal together or even stay indoors by yourself and just be together. The point is to claw back that time that made you a couple before kids came along and dashed your chance of any together time.
Whatever your choice, make sure Valentine’s day gifts for men comes from the heart and I’m sure he’ll love them.
If you know of any Valentine’s day men gifts that should make the list then please share in the comments below.
Good luck!

5 Ideas for what to do in sleepovers
If your little ones have decided they’d like a sleepover slumber party, don’t panic! Yes, welcoming over-excited children into your home may sound scary, but you don’t have to think of 100 things to do at a sleepover. If you’re organised, there’s no reason it can’t be an awesome slumber party your child won’t forget. Here are ideas for what to do at sleepovers (that can double up as birthday party ideas, too!)
1. Ideas for what to do in sleepovers – don’t take things too seriously
Laughter and even a tiny bit of chaos are what children at sleepovers usually experience. So when thinking about sleepover ideas, have fun in mind.
Invest in fun toys the children can enjoy, like kids riding on Lamborghinis. If you have the space and the money, then riding in kids’ electric cars is one of the most fun things to do at sleepovers and a great way to burn energy, too.
2. Entertainment
If the children are restless, a good sleepover game can include setting up some board games for entertainment. Monopoly is a really fun game and you can assign someone to look after the money (the banker) while everyone competes to build houses/hotels and monopolise the board.
Other fun things to do at a sleepover regarding entertainment could be to rent the kids’ favourite movies and huddle up with a blanket. A movie before bedtime winds children down and sets them in a bedtime mood, whereas an active board game lifts their energies and enthuses them. Ensure the movie finishes at least an hour before bed so the kids’ eyes settle away from the screen. Too much screen time before bed can make kids go the other way.
If the weather is good, let them play in the garden before the movie and dinner so they can burn that excess energy. You can rent a marquee for a party, but, be sure not to overtire them – overtired kids find it very difficult to put their heads down at bedtime – just ask my two Duracell boys!
3. Dinner time
Getting your little ones to sit around the table is an arduous task at the best of times – this task is only made more demanding when they have several friends staying over. However, keeping energy levels high is important, especially when the kids plan to embark on several adventures throughout the evening.
Thankfully, there are a number of easy-to-prepare meals available, many of which guarantee to provide your children and their friends with the energy and nutrition they need. Grilled veggie kebabs and homemade sweet potato chips are easy to make and help keep kids full and occupied while you take 5 minutes’ rest. Or you can make a cheese sauce and lather over some cauliflower and broccoli, which is a winner in our house.
4. Sleeping arrangements
Not all of us are lucky enough to have several spare guest rooms at hand, so for housing extra guests, it’s important to ensure you have enough bedding. Airbeds and sleeping bags are a great idea, and both are easy to assemble and can be positioned around your child’s room to make the best use of space. These cute little Snuggle Pods from LittleLife are brilliant and take up minimal space, so the kids get to sleep together in one room (when one falls asleep, the rest follow like Dominoes).
5. Put a few rules in place
Unless you want to be kept up all night, it’s important to establish a bedtime curfew. If you provide the little ones with an hour’s warning, you’ll find it a much easier task to send them off to bed when the time comes. If not, you may find hours go by while encouraging them to go upstairs.

Not all sleepover games have to be crazy, but if you want some crazy sleepover ideas, here are a few:
One person doing a taste test of what the other guests have put out in front of them – a great example could be different flavours of ice cream
Truth or dare games are always crazy
Obstacle course in the bedroom
What are some games to play at a sleepover?
The fun things to do during sleepovers will change slightly depending on age. A simple gathering around with duvets can be enough for younger kids, but older children may need a few target games to work around. Some great sleepover party games can include:
What are some things to talk about at a sleepover?
Fun things to do in sleepovers always include a good ol’ chinwag amongst friends. The great thing, though, is you can chat about anything, but keep an ear out for any topics which may cause some concern, like adult conversations and bullying. You may learn something about your child you didn’t know before, so let them talk! Some good prompts could be:
Lessons in school
Feelings and emotions
Favourite books/TV shows
Talk about other people
Whatever your sleepover party includes, whether it’s for teens or for tweens, make sure it’s a fun one – and relax the rules a little – a fun sleepover is an experience your child will not forget!

A working dad’s tips on managing everything
As a work-at-home mum coming from a corporate background, I am grateful for being able to work on my business around my kids. My husband has a great job too and he can take on the bulk of the financial commitment, while I offer a cushion around the end of living costs.
But regardless of his employment status and both of us being working parents, Hubby still has to flit back and forth during the week, from fatherhood to professional employee (just as working mothers have to do too), and it can’t be easy when he has four children hanging off his suit before he’s even had the chance to eat breakfast.
Being a working dad is hard. Like mums, when fathers get ready for parenthood, they don’t have the pregnancy’s physical changes to help them prepare for parenthood, nor do they factor in the two different people they have to be at work and at home (or work at home/stay at home). So, I had a lengthy conversation with my other half and Hubby has offered some advice for working dads on how he functions as a working father, to achieve as much work/life balance as possible. And, as with many other things in life for working fathers, it isn’t so black and white. Here are a working dad’s tips on managing everything
A working dad’s tips on managing everything – Prepare for work the night before
We’re winging it in the mornings, getting the kids ready for school, while managing two babies, so when hubby is rushing around trying to get his stuff together, the kids have ‘play with Daddy’ in mind. Sometimes, it’s the only Daddy-time they get that day, so it’s natural they want to get as much of him as possible before he leaves in the morning (around 7.30am).
But, this causes a problem for Hubby when he has to prepare for the long and arduous work day ahead. So time management is key here. Hubby prepares for work the night before, so he’s not rushing around in the morning. He gathers all the bits and bobs the night before, so that he can literally pick everything up and leave. That way, dad maximises his time balancing work prep with his kids in the morning, with minimised stress and rushing around.
Spend some time with the other half – and rest!
Hubby works full time, full on hours, so he often gets home around 7.30pm if he’s lucky. There will be times when the dishwasher hasn’t been done or the floor still has food on it. I normally aim to tackle all of those things when the kids are finally asleep, but hubby takes it upon himself to clean up anything that I haven’t done. It can sometimes be a small task, but the effect it has on me is astounding.
With hubby’s help, we’re done and on the couch by 8.30/9pm, so we can spend some quality time together. Even if we don’t end up spending time with each other, hubby ensures his mind gets some rest, by chilling out, watching some TV, or playing FIFA on the Xbox on some nights!
Leave work at work
So much easier said than done, but if hubby has had a bad day at work, the vibe is overwhelming when he (unintentionally) brings that stress home. So, he tries to sort the issue(s) away from home, at least, when the kids are up. If they’re asleep, then venting and talking to me about any issues he had at work can be therapeutic for him.
The lines can be blurred when hubby becomes work at home dad, but kids don’t need to feel the stress and anger in Daddy’s voice, especially if he’s snapping at them about something totally unrelated to their behaviour. It’s just not fair and it doesn’t do anyone any good. Leave work at the front door and pick it up again the next morning.
Delegation is diamond!
At work, Hubby manages a team of people, whom he often delegates tasks to his employees. He also can hire people, so he needs to have the right people on the job, which means he does the due diligence, undertakes background check prices and hires the right employee for the job. Taking this part of the role seriously means he can leave work at work, knowing he has the right people on the job when he’s at home.
Dress sharp
Whether we like it or not, Hubby is a representative of our family – we do carry his last name after all. So, when Hubby accompanies me to school activities where he gets to meet the teachers, I know those teachers are making snap judgements on our family.
You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but as Hubby dresses smart, people tend to treat him in a more professional way. Of course, he’s not always donning a suit and tie everywhere he goes, but he will still try to look smart by wearing smart men’s jumpers and jeans. Wool Overs offer some fantastic mens jumpers on sale at the moment, which are super smart and office-worthy. Hubby wears them a lot and I think he looks rather dapper in them.
The children follow our example, so if we dress and act smart, they will likely end up doing the same.
Be proud of being a working dad and all you do for the family
What responsibilities should a working father and husband have if his wife stays home?
There is no one rule on how the roles should work, even if you’re a dad working from home or you’re a full time dad at home. It is best to first talk roles together to decide how to divide-and-conquer managing finances, kids and related topics and then just trial and error it until you find a medium that works.
Should working dads help with night feeds?
They can, but I thought it would be better for Hubby to get some sleep so, even though daddy is working during the day, he is 100% there and engaged with the kids when he comes home and to do that, he needs sleep! But, everyone’s account of how they deal with life during the night will be different, so go with what works best for your family.

How to shop sustainably
We buy things often and many times without regard for the environment. Fast fashion and the use of plastic in packaging has wreaked havoc on our world, but is it time to look at ways we can shop more sustainably? Below are some ideas on how to shop ethically and sustainably and reduce your carbon footprint in the world.
Why is it important to shop sustainably?
Sustainable brands focus on being kind to the environment, so using quality materials made to last and choosing to shop sustainably means you can reduce your waste and clothing (which also saves you money too!)
How to shop sustainably on a budget
The most sustainable way to shop on a budget is shopping second-hand, but if that is not an option, lots of new brands are taking a more sustainable approach to their production. A good rule of thumb when considering how to shop more sustainably is to look into the details the brand provides, which should be set out clearly on their website.
Look at the material
From animal leather made to synthetic material derived from plastic, there are many materials that can be used in your clothing that have an environmental impact on the earth. But how do you shop sustainably for clothes and avoid these kinds of materials? Fortunately, there are some brands that are taking notice of how their clothes are made.
When you want to shop more sustainably, check out options for vegan shoes and clothing, so you can avoid causing harm to the planet and animals. Look into how the brand design and produce their products. How much water do they consume and what are the harmful polluting agents that are emitted from the manufacturing process? Sustainable companies use recycled materials, meaning they don’t need new raw materials and that greatly reduces the product’s environmental impact.
Buy from companies that care about sustainability
Knowing where you buy your clothes from and understanding the manufacturing practices of brands are as important as understanding the materials in your clothing. Most companies that are creating environmentally friendly clothing and shoes are going to care about sustainable habits, but it’s always wise to do your research before purchasing.
You may love a particular dress, but is it good for the planet? Even the distance of the factory from where you buy your clothing matters, as transportation affects our world as well. Who makes their clothes? Where does the factory come from?
Shop package-free goods
From your conditioner to the soap you use to clean your body or wash the dishes, so much of what we use frequently is packaged in cardboard or plastic. With shopping sustainably, it’s not just about your clothes, but also everything else you may need in your home.
Fortunately, there are some great stores out there that offer non-packaged goods, whether you’re shopping sustainably online or in-store.
Grow your produce
Another way to shop sustainably and reduce plastic use is not to shop at all, except for the seeds you need to grow your own produce. This may seem impossible if you don’t have a backyard, but did you know you can grow produce at home?
It may take some trial and error to get it down, but before you know it, you could grow your own food to eat, thus avoiding the shipping and packaging of the fruits and vegetables you consume. Growing and making your own food can be a lot healthier for you and your family as you can massively limit transportation and preservation chemicals.
How to grocery shop sustainably
Can you shop sustainably for grocery? Absolutely! When you shop online, look for brands that broadcast their plan for stocking sustainable food. Offline you can look in the high street as traditional butchers and greengrocers tend to source locally for fresher produce. Farmers’ markets and farm shops stock the freshest food, as you’re buying as close to the source as possible. Also, eating seasonally is not only cheaper but more environmentally friendly because the fruit and veg are sourced naturally with limited pesticides from importation.
How to shop sustainably for clothes – buy durable, timeless items
Buying new clothes can sometimes be an addiction, with people filling up their closets with things they don’t use. How can fashion be more sustainable though?
Shopping sustainably may mean taking an honest look at the way you buy your shoes and clothing.
Instead of shopping around for quick, cheap items, sustainable fashion means taking the time to make sure you shop sustainable clothing that will last and withstand the test of trends while reducing carbon emissions. Consider shopping at online thrift stores, where you can find used items in good condition. Shopping at thrift stores isn’t only affordable, it’s also a sustainable way to find long-lasting items you’ll be able to wear for years to come.
Taking care of the way you purchase everything from clothing to sustainable home goods is important. From changing how you buy your shampoo and conditioner to learning how to grow some of your food in your backyard, minor changes can make a big impact on the world.

When shopping online think about products that are second-hand or use sustainable materials. You can read more information on this above.
How to shop sustainably on amazon
When you shop online at Amazon look for the ‘Use the Climate Pledge Friendly filter‘ but also search for terms like recycled, zero waste, organic, cruelty-free, or energy efficient too.
