When considering the absolute best new mum care package ideas, it’s important to think about what a new mother needs most, i.e. love, happiness and support. After all, it takes a village to raise a child and often that is a luxury for new mums in the western world.
What is a postpartum care package?
A postpartum package is essentially a thoughtful collection of items put together to help a new mum after she’s given birth. Those first few weeks can be quite a whirlwind with the new baby, and taking care of oneself can sometimes take a back seat. So, this care package is like a little bundle of kindness to make life a bit easier and more comfortable for her.
Typically, it might include things like comfy pyjamas* or a cosy robe* – something nice to lounge in. There are often skincare products, like nipple cream* and soothing lotions, because let’s face it, childbirth and nursing can be quite tough on the body. You might also find things like sanitary pads*, as they’re pretty essential post-birth.
Then there are the little extras for comfort and relaxation – maybe some herbal teas known to be good for postpartum recovery, a nice book or magazine, and perhaps some healthy snacks. The idea is to provide a bit of pampering and practical help all rolled into one. It’s a lovely way to show a new mum that she’s supported and thought of during this big change in her life.
But does a new mum need help?
A new mum may feel overwhelmed by all the new things happening around her and therefore she would appreciate the help. So, a deluxe new mum care package should include self care gift ideas, both tangible and intangible, that will improve mum’s journey from pregnancy to the fourth trimester. Of course, it’s nice to get superficial gifts to boost happiness for the new mama, but sticking to things she will actually need will turn a nice gift basket into a vital mama care package to help raise baby and boost her mental and physical wellbeing.
Here are my thoughts on must-have products every new mum care package needs.
What do you put in a new mum care package?
Before thinking about what to put in a care package for a new mum, consider how the new mum is feeling and what she needs. She has all this extra responsibility to deal with after giving birth and needs to be on call for 24 hours a day. She’s tired and most likely in pain, so give her something that needs minimal input while also easing other aspects of her life.
So, what do you offer a new mum? Care packages every new mum will love will include items that take the mental load away from her too, like readily prepared meals or sleep aids to help her and baby go to sleep. Care kits for new mums are also great because they help mum take care of herself without taking too much time and thought into what she needs. Pairing a mummy care package after birth with a new baby care package offers ultimate happiness and support. We’ll go into what these are in a moment.
How to make a new mum care package
Like mum-to-be hampers, a DIY care package for new mum can include all the items in this article in a hamper or gift basket. To save money, you can bundle all the items together and then present in a hamper or basket, and wrap the whole thing in cellophane or a cotton blanket, which can double up as a blanket for baby. Creativity is key here and it will also save you money.
When to give a care package for new parents
New mum care packages that show her some love can include both practical and fun gifts. You can send a postpartum new mummy care package as part of a baby shower gift or as a new baby gift. Take advantage of next day deliveries if you can’t visit them personally and time the gift when mum needs it the most. So if it is a postpartum care package, make sure mum receives it just after she’s given birth, so she can use the items in the package to help recover. Here are some new mum care package ideas she’ll really appreciate:
What to put in a new mum survival kit
A new mum gift pack for survival is all about making those first few weeks with a new baby a bit easier and more comfortable for the mum. Here’s what you could include:
Nipple care package
New mum care packages should cater to her specific needs so if she’s breastfeeding, nipple cream is a lifesaver. You can also include breast pads and coconut oil in the after birth care package for mum too.
A postpartum care kit
Sanitary Pads: After giving birth, she’ll need a good supply of these.
Comfy Pyjamas: Something soft and easy to wear, ideally with buttons if she’s breastfeeding.
Healthy Snacks: New mums often forget to eat, so snacks like nuts, dried fruit, or granola bars are great for quick energy.
Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is super important, especially for breastfeeding mums.
Lip Balm and Hand Cream: Hospitals can be dry, and these little comforts can make a big difference.
Soothing Tea or Herbal Drinks: Great for relaxation and some are even beneficial for milk production.
A Good Book or Magazine: For those quiet moments when the baby is sleeping.
Baby Journal or Notebook: Handy for jotting down thoughts, feeding times, or sleep patterns.
A bathroom basics care package for new mums can include hair bands and dry shampoo for those days when showering is a bit of a luxury!
It’s all about providing a mix of practical items and little treats to make her feel cared for and supported.
Practical gifts for a new mum care package
Best postpartum care package includes gifts the new mum will actually include. Ideas for the perfect new mum care package can include practical items that will help take the mental load off mum. These can include:
A thermal mug
Babies are unpredictable and will need mum’s attention day and night. As a result, many a cup of tea or coffee will be suddenly abandoned, running cold before mum can finally take a sip.
Thermal mugs* are the perfect solution for any mummy care package after birth. They keep drinks warm while also protecting against spills with a nifty little lid. Practical and thoughtful, a thermal mug is something new mums never thought they would need but are so grateful they have it when they do.
Water bottle
Some great gift ideas include helping mum stay on top of her health. A personalised water bottle* will ensure she stays hydrated while also making her feel good. There are lots of online websites that can put a picture of her and baby on a water bottle or a positive message to keep her going. Search the net for something that suits mum.
New parent care package food related
New parents care package ideas can include taking the stress away from having to cook. Parents are tired, they’re fed up and they are at full capacity to consider when their next meal will come from. Sometimes a home-cooked food or readymade meals can offer a boost both nutritionally and mentally. Below are some ideas for a food-related mum gift basket.
Order a takeaway
A takeaway care package for mums can be an expensive way to help new mama wind down, but sometimes, just sometimes, it’s nice to feast on some gourmet food that she didn’t make in the kitchen.
Allow mum to curl up under the blanket with baby on a cold, winter’s night and stuff herself with comfort food while watching her favourite shows. It’s such a simple, yet relaxing way to forget about the growing to-do list and concentrate on bonding with baby.
Gift her a food subscription service
Food subscription services are perfect for new mums because they will always have food to fuel their busy days. If mum is particular about her food, then offering a subscription service (our favourite is HelloFresh) that delivers ingredients can help her know what to make without having to meal plan or go grocery shop would be much appreciated. However, she would probably want readymade meals delivered to her door, so a food subscription service like COOK might be better suited.
Pampering gifts for a new mum care package
Your gift doesn’t even have to serve a practical purpose. Some new mums might have all the equipment they need, in which case it would be nice to treat them to something luxurious they wouldn’t buy themselves.
Something sparkly
Think pretty trinkets that make her feel special, like a piece of luxury or bespoke jewellery. It will serve as a beautiful reminder of this life-changing moment while also giving her something to glam up with when she’s ready for the world again.
Help her groom, detox, and pamper
New mums will not be considering pampering themselves, so offering her a chance to feel normal again might be the breath of fresh air she’ll need.
Whether that means an extended facial skincare regime from the Body Shop or Jeunesse Global while enjoying a glass of bubbly or mug of her favourite beverage as she puts her feet up will do her the world of good, even if it’s for just twenty minutes while her baby naps. If she doesn’t drink alcohol, then she can enjoy some awesome bug busting, vitamin enriching smoothies. So, not only will her skin look pristine from the pampering, but her insides will get a great detox too. Win-win!
Sleep aids
One thing that most new mums suffer with is sleep deprivation; most times, they don’t realise it themselves. Even if their baby is sleeping soundly, sometimes the anxiety of a being a new mum can be too overwhelming to get a decent amount of shuteye.
Help mama relax and find her inner Zen with a collection of sleep aids that make up the care package for new baby. These can range from lavender candles to soothing pillow sprays and sun lamps that encourage mum to sleep and wake up at a normal time. A pamper box is also a great way for new mums to enjoy a calming ritual before bed. Sleep aids can also be added to a holiday gift box self care gift box for mum so she can rest while she’s away.
New mother care package ideas can include a new smile
Teeth are very much affected during pregnancy, so if you have the cash to splash you can gift new mum with a smile update. Head over to Harley Street Smile Clinic and offer a new mother care package that includes working on those pearly whites!
What to put in a postpartum care package that boosts mental wellbeing
Sometimes, even with a new addition, the loneliness can be crippling. Offering to be present and available can be one of the best presents you can afford the new mama.
Allow her to vent to you – and just empathise
A new mama care package doesn’t have to be tangible. Sometimes, a girl needs girl time! Maybe her partner or family members don’t understand what she’s going through and she needs a fellow mum/friend to have a good ol’ chatter about nothing in particular and gossip about this and that over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and some great food.
Friends can tap into feelings that she may bottle up and help mum work through them. Venting is healthy. It gets rid of the toxins and clears the cobwebs from her brain, even if it is to rant about how her baby puked all over her or how she’s not getting any sleep. Whatever it is, let her get it out and listen. Sometimes she doesn’t want suggestions or reassurances, so empathise and follow her cue.
A book that promotes positivity and happiness
The Lovely Book for Wonderful Women is a beautifully illustrated book that would be a perfect addition to a self-care package for new mum because it inspires happiness amongst fellow sisters and it is dedicated to all the wonderful women out there. The book contains tips and ideas on how to make life more positive, like spending time with friends or learning something new.
You can personalise the book with her name at the front, so the book is hers only. Each page inspires her to think about where she can improve her life and wellbeing as a woman and not just as a mother and wife. You can buy the book from Pinter & Martin here
Gift certificates for new parent care packages
If you’re still unsure about what to get mum, then consider vouchers or gift certificates which she can use when she’s ready.
Classes
Let’s face it, there are a lot of things a new mum has to learn super quickly. Make the whole process easier by gifting her some classes that teach anything from pelvic floor strengthening to Pilates or baby/mother nutrition. With the added support of professionals, new mums can feel more confident in undertaking their new responsibility. If only newborns came with a manual!
Gift cards
Populate a gift card with some money and allow mum to choose her own gifts when she’s ready to use them. Gift cards that can be redeemed online are preferable, so she doesn’t have to leave the comfort of home, especially during the first six weeks, although it might be nice for her to step outside and get some fresh air.
Complete your new mum care package with comfortable footwear

If you’re willing to go the extra mile and you have the time to go handmade, then stay tuned because here are some tips on how to make homemade anniversary cards with Boomf for your partner without the stress (get the kids involved too) and with plenty of fun to shake up your anniversary!I
What is the importance of homemade anniversary card ideas?
As you progress through the years, you tend to take your partner for granted. The honeymoon novelty wears off, and so does your quota for the silly romantic gestures you used to make for each other pre-kids. Either you’re too busy with your career or parenthood, but there comes a time when you sit back and realise, oh wow, it’s been a while since we had a date, or even just spent some adult time together with no talk of kids.
We may not be able to make up for lost time, but we can start by putting in an extra bit of effort, however large or small, to make them feel special on this very special day you two were united.
Step by step what to say in an anniversary card
When it comes to what to write in a homemade anniversary card, the options are endless. However, it is important to keep in mind that you want your message to be heartfelt and genuine. Let them know how much you love and care for them. Maybe you’ve always admired their strength or how much you appreciate their advice. Send thanks for all the sacrifices they have made for you. Let them know what’s important to you, and what you hope will pass on to their kids.
So let’s go through the different ways to send happy anniversary wishes and anniversary sayings in a heartfelt homemade card.
Depending on what ideas you have in mind for your homemade anniversary cards, you can use a variety of romantic paper craft items to bring them to life. Here you have a few suggestions to get you started:
Letters: If you’ve always wanted to write a letter but you have never found the right time to do so, a DIY anniversary card is a perfect opportunity to let your partner know how much you appreciate everything they have done for you.
Drawings or paintings: If you are more artistic, you can create a beautiful painting or a drawing on your anniversary card. You can also create a collage of photos or scraps of paper that represent your relationship.
How to make the card personal
Whether you are sending anniversary wishes to husband number three or anniversary wishes to wife number one, make it unique to the colours and style they like. Which colours do they normally flock to? What patterns do they normally wear? Reproduce this in their card. If you don’t know or it’s too difficult to choose, opt for white and use the decorations to reflect their personality.
You want your card to stand out from, say, anniversary wishes for friends which are more platonic. So add lots of hearts and kisses, maybe an inappropriate doodle to fire up that love engine again. Let the card stand out from what you would include in your general anniversary wishes for anyone other than your partner.
Here are some ideas:
So if your partner likes humour, you could try pun anniversary cards with funny anniversary quotes where the picture says one thing but the message means another and they both relate. For example, you could say ‘I’m your biggest fan,’ and then draw a picture of a fan on the front of the card.
If your partner is romantic, then you could create simple ‘I love you’ cards with a heart on the front. Keep it simple as less is more. Go one further and make an ‘I Love U’ pop up card. There’s always time for pop up cards! You can find pop up heart cards with free templates on Google, so get researching!
If your partner likes puzzles, then a good one is to write something similar to, ‘we fit together like puzzle pieces,’ and then draw two puzzle pieces to make it a puzzle anniversary card.
If you’re artistic, you can make a happy anniversary collage card and add little photos to make a mini collage, with a unique note related to those photos.
If your partner likes writing, then you could create a mini messages anniversary card that includes mini messages that are unique to you as a couple.
Perfect anniversary quotes for your anniversary note
Once you’ve picked out your card, then you can decide on your anniversary note and where it’s going to go. Perhaps add a placeholder so you work around the area in which to add your note.
But, what do you write in an anniversary card? If you need related resources to what to write in an anniversary card, Google is your friend here. You can type in terms like ‘Wedding anniversary milestones for anniversary card messages,’ so you can find specific notes for anniversary milestones like 10th, 25th, and 50th etc anniversaries.
Anniversary card ideas – what to write
Here are some simple messages you can write on your perfect anniversary card:
“I am so blessed that you’re still in my life and that we can celebrate another year together.”
“I wanted to show you how special you are by sending you an anniversary card made with love.”
“Love knows no bounds and neither does my artwork! Hope you like the card!”
“I love you more and more every day – how did I get so lucky?”
“There is no one else in this world with whom I’d rather ride the life rollercoaster. Stay on with me and let’s see where this ride takes us!”
“Sometimes I may not show you how much you mean to me – I hope this card gives you an idea of how big my love is for you.”
Conclusion
For the perfect anniversary DIY card to work, you need to put in time and effort, with some research as to what your partner would like. In the Boomf shop, you can create cute greeting card designs for anniversary and add a personal message with a relevant meaning. What have some people said about the RC Stunt Car Toy?
Perfect RC car for 7+ kids!
I have been trying to get a better remote control car for my 8-year-old, which needs to run for a longer time and should be easy to control. I was missing either of the features. But, this one is perfect. My son has been playing it for hours in all sorts of terrains like hard floor, staircase, grass and dirt. This is really durable and easy to maintain. Absolutely liked it.
Initially, I was a little sceptical on the functioning. I have brought similar items in the past and it works well. Durability is good and even the battery last week after a full charge.
Kido is happy with his new summer friend.
Loved the purchase.

Definitely buy, great product
I was a bit sceptical of buying at first. But when I received it I was blown away. My son totally loved it. Especially since they have it in red, his favourite colour. Played with it all day when it arrived. I definitely recommend this RC stunt car!!! Came in great packaging and perfect condition.

What we ordered
Hubby is a professional photographer, so he’s hardly ever in the picture, and as our fourth baby has just arrived, we have very few pictures of all six of us. So I went for the compilation option and chose the following images:
I was super impressed with how the artist compiled our photo. Our finished photo proof looked like this:
I framed the photo and gave it to hubby as an early birthday present, but he had no idea that a large painting of this photo would grace him soon for his birthday.
Our order
I chose an Oil, 60 x 90cm, 6-people compilation portrait with the artist’s signature but opted out on the video on this occasion (I wish I hadn’t!). I selected the Express Service and the painting arrived just under a month after I placed the order.
How did we get on with the Paint your Life journey?
The website was very easy to navigate and the level of detail when composing your order was impressive. We were kept notified every step of the way, so we knew when each stage was complete, with quick and simple prompts from Paint your Life when they needed our input to progress onto the next stage.
There were a few hiccups on a couple of parts in the painting, which were minimal (just a couple of revisions). They were picked up and fixed quickly and I was very happy with the final result. In fact, I got a bit emotional seeing our family as a compilation painting – I’ve made a mental note to surprise other family members with compilation paintings on special birthdays/holidays from now on.
How much did our Paint your Life painting cost?
With all the extras we added to our order, our painting cost £522 in total. Using the link below, we could have reduced this cost to £472. There are other coupons on the website, so keep an eye out as Paint your Life always has offers for first-time buyers especially.

We were thrilled with hubby’s painting and give it a rating of 5 out of 5. There were a few issues with the painting in that my eyes were slightly distorted and one of the facial features looked strange. But the artist fixed these issues without complaint and the finished picture looked amazing!
Paint your Life reviews
So, is Paint your Life expensive? The better question would be, is Paint your Life worth it? Judging by my husband’s reaction, I would say, yes, it definitely is. I find it amazing that these artists can compile a digital photo of the family and transform their portraits to paintings which are good enough to hang on the wall.
Here are some more reviews and Paint your Life quotes of what clients thought of their paintings from pictures.
This service is absolutely amazing! The painting itself was perfect. The review process is simple, and the artist had no problems specializing our image to help make it more perfect. We also used the video service, which turned out amazing as well. We had a small issue with shipping, it took much longer than expected, but when we called customer service, they expedited everything and were very friendly and apologetic. The customer service made up for the issue and kept this review at 5 stars. Thank you Paint Your Life!
I cannot believe how amazing this painting is. I’m so grateful to paint your life. Will definitely be getting another painting soon.

Body Shop skincare routine – what to buy for Mother’s Day
I was 13 when I first bought makeup at the shop. It was the 90s, so makeup meant Heather Shimmer lipstick, matte brown lip liner and ghostly pale face powder. I looked like an extra from the Addams Family, but I felt like a woman, especially when I discovered skincare for the first time at The Body Shop. I didn’t have a Body Shop skincare routine or any idea what my skin type was – I had teenage skin and a paper round allowance.
A trip to the Body Shop was an aromatic trip to heaven, and it soon became my favoured visit with friends every weekend. I tried on the fragranced hand creams, different array of eyeshadow and lip liners and treated myself to body butter and bath bombs.
Then the noise of the naughties drowned out the brick and mortar brands with online shopping paving the way to a whole new selection of affordable skincare. Social media heeled the barrage of gimmicky skincare fads and with influencers plugging their own merch too, I quickly became overwhelmed. My thirties were my ‘baby years’ (I had four babies in my thirties) so my skincare routine took a nosedive and since then I have stuck to serums which help me look like I’ve slept for more than a few minutes in the last five years.
After a long hiatus, I found The Body Shop again and I truly forgot how amazing it is. The Body Shop online took me straight back to that 13-year-old bright-eyed brunette, searching for her own identity and immersing herself in makeup and skincare for the first time.
Now I’m in my 40s, I try hard to have a basic skincare at the best of times and even though I rarely get it right, I have tried to look after my skin over the years.
I would love for someone to do the research for me and gift me with a suitable skincare kit for Mother’s Day this year because it would be one heck of a present for a tired mum with minimal time to think for or look after herself. You can’t go wrong with a well thought out skincare set!
So, let me do the research for you – here is a step-by-step rundown of the different body shop skincare routines that could work for that special mum in your life, so you can make her feel like she’s glowing on Mother’s Day.
My everyday skin care routine at home
I have to admit; I am not the best at keeping up with my skincare routine, but over the years, there are a few things I do (almost every day/night) to ensure my skin doesn’t age prematurely (the fine lines have already got to me, though.)
I take my makeup off before I go to bed
I only started religiously taking my makeup off in my thirties, but doing so has helped to ensure I have softer, cleaner skin when I wake up in the morning. I don’t wear foundation and I only use concealer on certain parts of my skin (especially around my eye area), so it’s important I wash the concealer off to prevent pore clogging.
I use a cleansing wipe to wash my makeup off and a hot wet 100% cotton towel to wipe it off
I use a cleansing wipe which I can lather on my skin in a gentle circular motion to wash my eye makeup off, so I’m not dragging on the skin. The cleanse ends with a hot damp towel, which feels like a mini spa facial. I place the towel over my face and press gently for a few seconds (which feels amazing). Then I gently wipe and repeat until all the makeup is off.
I always use a serum on my skin
Using a serum before you put on your moisturiser just helps to keep things properly moisturised. Now that I always use a serum, I find it is not enough to put moisturiser on. I have combination skin, so some moisturisers are too drying and some are too oily. But the serum feels just right on my skin.
I do a mini facial workout before bed
I always make sure I use lip balm regularly
I try to keep my lips as moisturised as possible, and they’ve helped to stay plump in my forties. I’ve been doing this since my twenties and I feel like the work has paid off, although during this winter weather, they’ve taken quite a beating! (I always have parched skin in the winter).
Here is a video of my basic skincare routine before bed:
What I should include in my step-by-step skin care routine
I’m slack with SPF and often forget to add it to my skincare routine before I go out. The only way to get around this for me is to buy a moisturiser which has SPF* in it. I’ve found some great ones from The Body Shop, which I’ll list below.
What you should include in your steps for skin care routine excellence
So, being a mum of four with tired, aging skin, I’d love nothing better than to receive skincare that makes me feel glorious on Mother’s Day. So here are the top Body Shop skin care products for each skin care routine so you know what to get for your special someone on Mother’s Day.

So, trying to work out a skin care routine step-by-step leaves you feeling like you’re going around in circles. Click here* for more information on combination skin.
The ultimate Body Shop skin care routine for combination skin should comprise:

Cleanser
A cleanser removes any buildup that occurs overnight. A great cleanser for combination skin is the Seaweed Cleansing Gel Wash*, which is also suitable for oily skin, and rebalances and controls shine. It’s also vegan!

“Vitamin E Overnight serum in oil is amazing. My skin feels so soft and glowing after. I love it.”
If you can find a moisturiser with at least SPF30, then you can combine the sunscreen and moisturiser in one. A great, highly protective sunscreen is the Skin Defence Multi- Protection Light Essence SPF 50 PA +++* which has a weightless finish and helps protect skin against pollution.
Then add your makeup, but make sure it’s lightweight. Foundation and concealer should be oil-free. Check out the Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation* which is lightweight and perfect for all skin types, especially oily skin.

“Beautiful creamy foundation giving great coverage.”
You should always remove your makeup to keep your pores unclogged and help your skin to breathe. Micellar water is one of the gentlest products and is great to use on sensitive skin. Use gentle make-up remover pads, like these Clean Conscience Reusable Make-Up Remover Pads* which are reusable and machine washable too.

“Amazing, use them every day. Great that you can wash them.”

“Best on the market, I wouldn’t use anything else now.”
Use a strong serum and emollient-rich moisturiser for dry areas to get to work during the night while you’re asleep. You could also use a treatment to help with certain areas that need it the most. A good nighttime moisturiser is the Hemp Overnight Nourishing Rescue Mask* which is suitable for dry skin and keeps skin quenched for up to 72 hours.
“WOW, WOW, WOW! This is the best Body Shop product I have ever tried. It is superbly moisturising! Smells divine and makes by skin baby soft. A must have essential in everyone’s bathroom cupboard.”
Using an exfoliant once a week is great for removing dead skin cells and keeping pores clear. It also relieves dry areas. The Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Exfoliator* is suitable for combination and oily skin and gently exfoliates away dead skin cells.

Oily skin is one of the most common skin concerns, with shiny complexion and acne breakouts being typical symptoms for acne sufferers.
Cleanse morning and night
A Body Shop skin care routine for acne should include a cleanser that contains salicylic acid. The best evening skin care routine for oily skin should include a double cleanse at night if you wear makeup.
A toner could help fight blackheads and blemishes. Try to find an exfoliating toner that contains either salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or lactic acid. A mattifying toner like the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner* can help to purify, refresh and prep the skin so you’re ready to take on the world!
Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner FOR OILY, BLEMISHED SKIN. PURIFYING. VEGAN. Buy here*
“This is my go to product, day and night! Absolutely fantastic! Keeps my spots at bay!”
Treat your skin according to your specific skin concern. So if you’re prone to acne, use benzoyl peroxide or sulfur in the daytime to help curb oil production and prevent breakouts. In the evening, a retinol product can help to keep pores clear and skin glowing.
Tea tree oil for oily, blemished skin can be used throughout the day to target blemishes. Try Tea Tree Oil* which is suitable for oily, blemished skin.
Tea Tree Oil FOR OILY, BLEMISHED SKIN. PURIFYING VEGAN. Buy here*
“This product is amazing! It really helps to reduce my blemishes and oily skin. Can’t recommend enough.”
Even if you have oily skin, your Body Shop skincare routine steps for the morning should include moisturiser, but be more careful with the type you use. Look for a moisturiser that’s lightweight, free of oils and water-based.
When you have dry skin, the right skincare can transform your skin from tight and flaky to soft and glowing. But you need to start the day the right way.
The Body Shop skincare routine order for the morning should include products that keep moisture in.
Prepare your skin with a gentle non-foaming cleanser
A gentle cleanser removes oil and dirt without drying the skin. The Vitamin E Cream Cleanser* is suitable for dehydrated skin and removes impurities while leaving skin hydrated.

“Love this cleanser, removes makeup so easily and the product itself lasts for a really long time.”
After cleansing, a good way to soak up moisture is to add a serum, especially one with hyaluronic acid. A good Body Shop serum for dry skin is the CBD Restoring Facial Oil*, which is good for dehydrated skin and leaves skin feeling soothed and smoothed.
CBD Restoring Facial Oil FOR DEHYDRATED SKIN. GREEN SCENT. Buy here*
“Love this oil, really soothes my skin, become a regular part of my skincare routine.”
Look for lightweight moisturisers that help to hydrate skin and form a protective seal over the skin’s surface. The Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream* offers up to 72 hours of hydration and is infused with hyaluronic acid to help lock in that moisture. Don’t forget to add an SPF to protect your skin further from the sun.
Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream FOR DRY SKIN. 72H HYDRATION. VEGETARIAN. Buy here*
“All my skin is consistently dry. This face cream has worked brilliantly for me since the first day I used it”
Cleansing is important to remove impurities and relieve parched skin, but moisturising is the key here to keep skin supple and hydrated overnight. The Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Sleeping Mask* is suitable for dehydrated skin and gets to work overnight to infuse optimum moisture levels for intense hydration.
Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Sleeping Mask FOR DEHYDRATED SKIN. Buy here*
“I leave it overnight and feel my skin softer! Great services of Body shop and very fast delivery! Great value for money!”
When creating a skin care routine for more mature-looking skin, you’ll want to plump fine lines, banish dark spots, and lift sagging skin.
Your Body Shop skin care routine for dry skin should include cleansing, treating and using sunscreen on your neck as well as your face. Choose a gentler exfoliant as your skin may be more sensitive.
Why not take just two minutes a day and give yourself a little facial yoga massage? I use Danielle Collins’ Face Yoga Interactive Journal which includes 53 exercises, motivational quotes and weekly wellness hacks to help you set your own goals, allowing you to get healthy, glowing, younger-looking skin just by dedicating a minimum of 2 minutes a day to face yoga.
It’s important to build a skincare routine that works for you and your unique skin. But the best face routine involves doing things in a certain order, so follow the above steps or find out what the recipient’s skin is like so you can buy the right Body Shop skin care set for Mother’s Day.

FAQ
What is your skin care routine that has changed your skin?
I found cleansing every night with an exfoliating wipe and moisturising with serum prevented me from getting spots. I used to have slightly bumpy and uneven skin, but that has changed since I have a good working skincare routine that works for me.
Does the order of skincare steps matter?
Yes, it’s important to cleanse and prep your skin before you moisturise so you lock in moisture.
What is Community Fair Trade?
Community Fair Trade was launched in 1987 and is the Body Shop’s bespoke fair trade programme, which helps their suppliers gain market access and invest in social and environmental projects that benefit their communities. You can find more information on the Body Shops’ Community Fair Trade programme here.
What can help with very dry skin?
Use the right cleanser, i.e. non-foaming cleanser, to clean your skin because some can be drying. Rehydrate the skin with the right moisturiser for dry skin. This article has additional helpful tips for how to relieve dry skin.
Do skincare products delay aging or worsen it?
Using the right skincare products can delay aging to a certain extent, but your genes and lifestyle will eventually catch up with you. The wrong products can speed up aging so make sure you’re using the right products for your skin.
What does it mean when someone says your skin is glowing?
“Glowing skin means different things to people. Many people use the term to refer to skin that looks healthy and “awake” rather than dry, dull, or unevenly textured. For some, healthy skin results in a natural sheen, or “glow.” Healthy skin is something that most people can work towards.”
Should I use cleanser and toner if I don’t use makeup? Is it optional?
“If you don’t wear makeup on your skin, you might be able to get away with just using a targeted toner on a cotton ball as a cleanser. However, the process of using warm water to cleanse the pores can help soften the pores and add radiance to the skin.
“If you have light skin and spend a lot of time in the sun, you’re more likely to develop age spots — areas of increased pigmentation. Age spots are small, flat dark areas on the skin. They vary in size and usually appear on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, shoulders and arms.”
“We recommend adding a face mask to your skin care routine once or twice a week. Masking should follow cleansing, toning, and applying a facial essence. These steps clear impurities and excess oil, provide a base layer of hydration and prep your skin to better absorb the benefits of your face mask.”
Is there any way to cure a hormonal acne without taking pills? Are there any natural ways to deal with it?
Following a nutrient-dense diet, cutting out dairy, and limiting added sugars are evidence-based practices that may improve acne symptoms. Taking certain supplements like vitamin D and green tea extract, getting enough sleep, quitting smoking, and reducing stress are other healthy ways to fight this disease.

Mothers Day pamper: best gift Ideas for new mums
Mother’s Day is a day where mum gets to expect a red carpet, breakfast in bed and to be waited on hand and feet throughout the day. Well, this is what one would expect when it’s your first mother’s day, but you’ll quickly cotton on that you’ll have to dictate what you want for your special Mothers Day pamper session if there is to be any kind of special treatment as far as first Mother’s Day gifts are concerned!
So, what are some different things to do on Mother’s Day? Motherhood Diaries has come up with an article containing 40 creative Mother’s Day pamper ideas that I suggest you put forward to your partner and little ones, so they can take a hint – or 39.
1. Book her a hotel room for the night.
One of the great ways to pamper your mum this Mothers Day is to give her the gift of peace. Becoming a mum for the first time is quite the culture shock to your social life, so be prepared for the odd pang of yearning to go out and do something other than stare at the same four walls in the house.
A hotel room for one night where mum can just be a woman and not a baby mother or a wife, does wonders to the mental health. But, if that’s not possible and you can’t separate from the baby, then there are tons of affordable family-centric hotels out there, for example, a 4-star hotel in London that’s affordable, from a considerate and reputable hotel chain such as Dorsett Hotels. Luxury doesn’t always have to come at a premium cost, and a hotel can be family-friendly and fancy all at once.
2. Personalised gifts with her favourite photo uploaded
Photo gifts are great because they can transform everyday objects into something more personalised and special, especially when you add messages on mother’s day that offer a personalised experience. Just choose your favourite picture or design (you could use sublimation designs) of whatever you like, and upload it onto an everyday object, like a mug.
Or even have the little ones draw a picture for you and upload, then you’ve got yourself a personalised mug* just for mum. You could pack in mum’s favourite tea or coffee, biscuits, and cakes. Or, for extra man/kiddie points, have your little ones bring her a morning coffee in it – first thing too.
If your kids love all things arty (or just love making a beautiful mess) why not look into having them make something for her? It doesn’t have to be anything too difficult as she probably won’t be expecting the next Michael Angelo’s ‘David’, but she’ll appreciate the thought you’ll have all gone to and it’s something she’ll want to keep forever.
Anything with handprints is a good place to start as it’s really easy and you can make loads of pictures out of them. The kids will no doubt love doing it, too. Add happy first mother’s day quotes to make her smile and the kids’ work of art will be golden.
Pampering relaxation ideas for mum this Mothers Day can include jewellery. Jewellery* is always a winner especially as first Mother’s Day gifts goes. Personalised bracelets* are reasonably priced and you can add the initials of your little ones on the bracelet, or a 1st mother’s day message too. Thinking outside the box like this will definitely earn you some brownie points. I love these personalised bracelets of my children’s names made by Handmade by M7* below!
If you’re thinking about how to pamper mum on Mother’s Day and you’re coming up with blanks then just give her the chance to pamper herself! She’d probably appreciate nothing more than winding downtime, so for a gift that costs nothing, why don’t the rest of the family be in charge of all the responsibilities for the day? Breakfast in bed, a candlelit bath, a three-course meal and a tidy house will make her day (as well as probably leave her gobsmacked). You could watch Mum’s favourite films all day and eat her favourite snacks. Save her some, though!
6. The gift of sleep
Special ways to pamper your mum this Mothers Day can include the gift of sleep. If children are too young to understand and still wake up in the middle of the night, then try to take over some of the shift work. Then allow her a much-needed lie-in, greeting her with number 33 and number 38 ASAP.
7. Grow her own garden
If she’s green-fingered but never gets the chance to go out in the garden, then get her a ‘Grow your own garden’ box which offers her everything needed in a box to grow her own herbs, like this Grow It Herb Garden from The Gift Experience, which includes the flowerpot, the soil and the seeds to grow from scratch.
8. Personalised pocket mirror

I’m sure there are tons of house chores on the to-do list that haven’t been seen yet, like a leaky tap, a hanging door or chipped paint. Give her a Mother’s Day she won’t forget by fixing something in the house which will help her get on with her daily duties more quickly.
10. A clean house
A clean house will make mum really happy so she doesn’t have to spend her special day cleaning up after you guys. But, keep the house clean from now on – no point in just giving her a clean house for one day then destroying it afterwards!
11. Her favourite takeaway and movie
Mum will probably be tired after a long day. And, perhaps, she hasn’t had the chance to take Mother’s Day off to do something she really likes. So why not feed her a favoured takeaway and movie that she can enjoy in peace? If the movie is child-friendly, invite the whole family to watch and spend some much-needed family time together.
12. Bake her goodies
Mum loves an at home pamper pamper day full of gifts made with love, especially if it’s from her favourite people. Bake her some special goodies, like cookies or even a Mother’s Day cake and put it in a nice gift basket – but clean the kitchen afterwards so you don’t stress her out!
13. Write her a letter
Writing mum a letter on Mother’s Day means she can keep your special letter long after Mother’s Day is over – make it an extra special letter from the heart, with some happy 1st mother’s day quotes inside so mum can take it out and read time and time again when she needs a pick-me-up.
14. A takeaway mug
Mum needs liquid help to carry out tasks throughout the day. So, help her out by buying her a takeaway coffee mug like the above Little Miss Sunshine Takeaway Travel Mug from The Gift Experience, so that she can enjoy a much-needed boost when running you guys around in between activities!

This tea blends the calming flavours of Honeybush, Rooibos, Rose Petals, and Ashwagandha, offering a sip of relaxation. It’s vegan, caffeine-free, and comes in eco-friendly biodegradable pyramids.

15. Make her fancy bath and body gifts for homemade bath pamper sets
Pampering mum self-care gifts for Mothers Day can include home pamper kits with fancy bath goodies that she can sink into after a long days’ work, like bath bombs (here’s a recipe for a bath bomb from Red Ted Art) and/or this lavender and calendula bath soak from Blue Bear Wood which is great for sensitive skin – and even kids too!
Pamper her with lovely beauty products like the Mio Skincare’s Heavenly Body Exfoliating Body Scrub* which can add an extra layer of luxury to the special day. This exfoliating scrub, praised for its ability to smooth and revitalise the skin, embodies the essence of a comforting home spa day for mum. Its blend of natural salt crystals, almond, and coconut oils not only gently exfoliates but also nourishes, leaving the skin soft, hydrated, and glowing. Its lightweight formula, coupled with a delightful scent, makes it a luxurious addition to any skincare routine.
16. Take her out on a day trip
Maybe mum never gets the chance to go out anymore because she’s stuck working, cleaning and looking after the kids. Find out what’s special on Mother’s Day and take her out for a day she won’t forget. Take lots of photos and videos for a lovely keepsake afterwards.
17. Make her personalised gift cards
Save money on the card by making your own. Mother’s Day cards can be so expensive and they usually just get shoved in a drawer anyway. But, if you make it yourself, with personalised 1st mother’s day messages inside then mum won’t ever throw them away. They’ll be her favourite cards ever.
18. Spend some time together – without gadgets!
Spending time together has been touched upon in other gift ideas, but this should be without gadgets or any other distractions. Spending some time together also doesn’t have to include going out. 19. Spend some time with Mum and get to know her
If mum doesn’t get the chance to spend Mother’s Day doing what she wants, then at least give her the gift of time by getting to know her. Sometimes mums just need to be heard and acknowledged.
20. Go on a picnic
Just like 18, you don’t need to go out, but a hot picnic prepared by someone else other than mum might be all she needs to have a special Mother’s Day. If the weather is nice, either head out to the garden or go to the nearest park and enjoy a lovely family picnic with mum on Mother’s Day.
21. Wash her car
If mum spends most of her time driving to and from activities, then spend some time washing her car because she will be grateful that she didn’t have to do it herself and she can get on with much-needed pampering activities.
22. Buy her favourite book – and give her time to read it
If mum is a reader but never gets the chance to read, work on number 19, by asking her what her favourite book genre is, and then find out where you can buy a book that she’d enjoy reading. But let her read it in peace. Mother’s Day is all about making mum feel special, so if she needs number 24 and a book – then that’s what she should enjoy.
23. Make her a box of keepsake gifts that pamper
Mums love little keepsakes, especially when they’re made from her darling children. Perhaps have a hunt around for what she has not thrown away and fill up a little box of keepsake gifts to pamper Mum like a cute personalised book for the baby. For example, the ‘Baby, Where Are You?’ personalised lift-the-flap book allows mum to pull out the slot-in card from the cover and write her baby’s name on the card, so her baby can become part of the search-and-find story. It makes for a lovely keepsake! To order from Amazon, click here* or the image below:
Add as many of the gift ideas in this article to the box and Mum will have a lovely keepsake that she can treasure forever.

24. Set up a spa-like environment and throw in number 15 for the ultimate bath experience

Then lay out some towels, and fill up the bath with number 15. Hand her number 22, put some nice relaxation/mindfulness music on and let her enjoy a spa-like experience on Mother’s Day.

29. Replenish her makeup bag

30. Get her a gym membership
This present might be a bit controversial, but make it clear you’re only getting her a gym membership because maybe she has talked about going to the gym, but has not had the chance to take out a membership yet. It won’t be because she needs it. No need to make mum feel fat on Mother’s Day!
31. Get her a canvas of her favourite family photo

How do I make a nice spa for a mum?
Other questions asked were:
How do I pamper my mum on Mothers Day?
Creating a nice spa experience for your mum at home is a wonderful way to show her love and appreciation. Here’s how you can transform her space into a relaxing retreat:
Prepare the Atmosphere: Start by tidying up the space where the spa day will take place, typically the bathroom. Light scented candles or use an essential oil diffuser with calming scents like lavender, chamomile, or sandalwood. Play soft, soothing music in the background to set a peaceful mood.
DIY Spa Treatments: Gather ingredients for homemade spa treatments. You can make a simple face mask using natural ingredients like honey, yoghurt, and oatmeal. Prepare a sugar or salt body scrub by mixing it with coconut oil and a few drops of essential oil.
Warm Towels: Soak hand towels in warm water with a bit of essential oil, wring them out, and place them in a slow cooker on low to keep them warm. These can be used to wipe off face masks or just for a warm, soothing compress.
Bath Time Luxury: Draw a bath and add bath salts, bubbles, or a bath bomb. If you have them, scatter flower petals for an extra luxurious touch. Ensure there’s a plush bathrobe and slippers ready for her use afterward.
Spa Stations: Set up different ‘stations’ for her spa day, such as a manicure/pedicure area with a selection of nail polishes, files, and lotions. You could also have a facial station with different masks, serums, and moisturisers.
Refreshment Area: Prepare a small refreshment area with spa-day essentials like cucumber-infused water, herbal teas, and light snacks such as fruit or nuts.
Personal Touches: Write her a sweet note expressing your love, placing it somewhere she’ll find during her spa day. You can also offer to be her personal spa technician, assisting with the application of masks, managing the bath, or simply providing company.
Spa Kit Gift: As a memento, put together a spa kit with mini versions of the products used or crafted during the day, so she can recreate the experience whenever she wishes.
Relaxation Time: Make sure she has uninterrupted time to enjoy her spa day. Take care of any chores that might distract her, allowing her to fully relax and rejuvenate.

So, I scoured the net and found some Valentine’s day gift ideas that are special enough for that special man in your life (which can also double up as great date night ideas too!) Here are simple Valentine’s Day gifts for him.

Simple Valentine’s Day gifts for him – A personalised wallet
My husband walked around with a tattered wallet for years before I decided he needed to say goodbye to it forever. Wallets make great gifts for men for Valentine’s day, so I went on the hunt for a decent wallet that would house his cards, notes and coins. I thought it would take me minutes, but it turned out to be a selection headache, because of the sheer volume of wallets available online.
I found a personalised service and stumbled upon an online company called Farrar & Tanner, which offers an impressive selection of high-quality personalised wallets you can gift wrap and offer as an awesome Valentine gift for men.
Your man is up and about all the time, so buying him a nice pair of boots made for walking to work, dropping the kids to school/activities and going on great dates (with you of course) would seem the ideal and practical choice for Valentine’s Day. Jacamo has a great selection of boots made just for walking and that’s just what they’ll do!

So, the Braun Series 7 Electric Shaver with Travel Case would be one of my Valentine’s gifts for him, as he’ll fully use it.
A day without the kids
You don’t have to always buy gifts on Valentine’s Day. Ship the kids off to the grandparents or hire a babysitter and take the day together. You could stroll along the park, go to the cinema, enjoy a nice meal together or even stay indoors by yourself and just be together. The point is to claw back that time that made you a couple before kids came along and dashed your chance of any together time.
Whatever your choice, make sure Valentine’s day gifts for men comes from the heart and I’m sure he’ll love them.
If you know of any Valentine’s day men gifts that should make the list then please share in the comments below.

Mothers day gift experiences and ideas for expecting mothers
Mothers Day is around the corner and mums, new and veteran, will be expecting some form of special treatment (whether we get said special treatment or not is another story!)
But what would be a great gift for an expectant mother, especially when she can’t drink alcohol or go on a racecar experience day (I’m sure she’d want to if it weren’t for the pandemic – or the pregnancy)? And what are good mothers day gifts besides flowers and a gift box of some kind?
First-time mums tend to overspend on maternity/baby gifts. It’s like a rite of passage we all go through where we buy the unnecessary, necessary stuff until we realise we don’t need most of it anyway.
So, check out some Mothers day gift experiences and ideas that they’ll/we’ll actually use (pass this Mother’s Day gift guide on to your partner so they’re in on the secret to the perfect thoughtful gifts for us too)!
Psst, these gifts can also double up as great baby shower gifts for new mums too, so win-win!
A comfortable set of maternity/nursing bras
During pregnancy, your bra size will fluctuate from pre-pregnancy cuteness to maternity melons. They’ll get even bigger after birth then they’ll slowly reduce in size until they hit that post-pregnancy plateau. So one of the most important Mothers Day gift ideas experiences you can surprise an expecting mum with are comfortable maternity/nursing bras. Maternity bras tend to be padded and non-wired for comfort, to allow for room to grow. They should also double up as nursing bras should mum want to breastfeed, which means they’ll clip and unclip at the bra strap for ease of use. Some great bras which are super comfortable for pregnant mums are:
These Grey/White Non-Wired Padded Nursing Bras from Next offer maximum comfort and are on the larger size, if you’re like me and you’re already carrying bazoongas.
Bravado Designs Plunge Nursing Bras are also very comfortable and provide a smooth contour without compromising on flexibility. The soft yet structured bra adjusts with your body as you grow during pregnancy and fluctuate during nursing.
A comfortable set of briefs/underwear
As your top half grows so does your bottom half. A good fitting over the bump set of 100% cotton briefs like these Lace Briefs can offer maximum comfort. Opt for high-waisted underpants too so that if you end up having a c section, they fit over the scar and not ride on it. This helps to prevent friction and infection.
Comfortable maternity clothes, especially when mum has grown a few sizes, can provide that extra bit of comfort when needed. Flowing long tops like the MAMA V-Neck Tunic from H&M are also great at hiding other lumps but keeps the focus on that gorgeous pregnant bump. It also offers breathing space when all mum wants is for things to be off her skin, especially during the third trimester!
Experience gifts for every type of mum – Comfortable shoes
As you enter the later stages of pregnancy, footwear comfort becomes crucial. The Black Tulip Studio Farro Flat Chelsea Boot in Caramel Suede* is an exemplary choice for mums-to-be seeking ease and style. These boots feature a slip-on design, which is a Godsend for when bending over becomes a challenge. The soft caramel suede offers a versatile look that pairs effortlessly with a variety of maternity outfits, while the flat design ensures comfort for your feet, which is essential as you prepare for motherhood. Whether you’re running errands or simply enjoying a day out, these Chelsea boots* are designed to provide maximum comfort without compromising on style
These Imitation Suede Shoes from H&M are also easy to slip on and look great against black leggings and the black tunic top that they should become a staple in every pregnant woman’s shoe rack. Who says maternity clothing has to look dowdy!
If you still want some height but you’re too scared to strut in stilettos, go for these Platform Boots from H&M, which has a zip on the side so you can slip into them easily, but still add a few extra inches to your height. They also look fab with leggings or a long flowy maxi dress. Switch it up during pregnancy to keep your spirits high!
If you’re still exercising during pregnancy then, again, good for you! These Mesh Trainers from H&M are very comfortable for walking or even running during pregnancy, provided you’ve okayed it with your doctor first. The stripes on the trainers also light up in the dark so they’re perfect for those short days during winter.

Still exercising during pregnancy?
Staying active during pregnancy is a boon for both mother and baby, and the right footwear can make all the difference. The Black Tulip Studio Arbi Sleek Sneaker in Giraffe* is a chic and comfortable sneaker that is a perfect blend of style and functionality for expectant mums.
The playful giraffe print adds a touch of fun to your workout attire, while the supportive design caters to the unique needs of a pregnant body, ensuring safety and comfort during exercise. Ideal for walks, prenatal yoga, or even light jogging (if your doctor approves!), these sneakers will keep you moving and stylish throughout your pregnancy journey.
Travel becomes an experience once you have the baby, so mum needs to ensure she has everything to hand to weather all seasons in the UK. Apart from a comfortable and secure pram, accessories like a warm waterproof blanket can ensure the baby is protected, no matter the weather.
Bundlebean’s 5 in 1 Multipurpose Cover, Go, is a wonderful blanket that’s so multifunctional it fits onto buggies, bike seats, car seats and quality baby carriers. You can also open it out flat to use as a travel rug or play mat, so it’s worth the investment. We’ve got ours in the newly launched ‘bees’ pattern, which looks so cute on the buggy. Check out the Instagram pic below of my baby posing with the new blanket.
Help with getting baby to sleep at night!
It’s well known that once babies come along, your sleep disappears for an indefinite amount of time. But, it’s also a popular belief that swaddling baby helps them to sleep better at night. If you’re anything like me and never get swaddling right, grab yourself or pregnant mum a Love To Dream Starter Pack, which includes a set of swaddle essentials to ensure little ones are comfortable and safe from day to dream.
You can get different types of togs depending on the weather; the 1.0tog is more suitable for the warmer months and the 2.5tog is thick enough for the winter months. A Starter Pack ensures you have one for bedtime and one spare for washing too. I don’t think you can get better pregnancy presents than something which helps mum sleep at night!
Help to travel with multiple kids
Mama-to-be might have older toddlers so once the new baby comes along she’ll need a way to transport both baby and toddler either in a double buggy or a buggy with a buggyboard. Cheeky Rascals has a cute Lascal Mini BuggyBoard in either Jungle or Woodland which easily fits more than 99% of pushchairs, prams and strollers, giving tired toddlers a safe place to rest on the buggy. Travel items can make for great gifts for an expecting mother, especially if she has to worry about transporting more than one child.
Cute outfits – just because they’re cute!
Who says you have to just buy the normal white, yellow, blue or pink pastel babysuits? Stretch the imagination and get something really cool that mum can keep sentimentally for years after her babies have grown up. I absolutely love the new Lazy Baby iconic ‘Just done 9 months inside’ babygrows, which comes with a cute matching hat – perfect for those first few days after birth and it makes for a great gift for mum-to-be.
Mothers Day experience gifts every mum will adore – help with feeding
Whether you choose to breastfeed or bottlefeed, feeding can be a hugely difficult milestone to overcome. For first-time expectant mothers, the thought may be daunting before they’ve even got to try both methods out.
You may be one of the lucky ones and birth a baby who knows how to breastfeed straight away or you may have a problem with latching, which ultimately leads to cracked, sore nipples. Breastpumps can help take the pressure off your boobs and provide some respite so your partner or a loved one can feed the baby while you take some time off. I love the Medela Swing Flex™ 2-Phase Electric Breast Pump which is quick and efficient for whenever you need it, and, most importantly, when you need that all-important break!

FAQ
Why is it important to celebrate Mother’s Day?
Celebrating Mother’s Day holds special significance when mum is pregnant for several reasons:
Acknowledging the Transition to Motherhood: Pregnancy is a significant period in a woman’s life, marking her transition into motherhood. Celebrating Mother’s Day during this time helps honour this important journey. It’s a recognition of her soon-to-be status as a mother and the love, care, and nurturing she’s already providing to her unborn child.
Emotional Support and Recognition: Pregnancy can be an emotionally intense and challenging time, filled with anticipation, anxiety, and a myriad of changes—both physical and emotional. Celebrating Mother’s Day offers an opportunity to show support for these changes, helping mum feel valued.
Strengthening Bonds: It’s a chance for partners, family, and friends to bond with mum and express their excitement about the new arrival. This celebration can strengthen relationships and build a supportive community around her.
Focus on Self-care and Well-being: Pregnant women often prioritise the well-being of their unborn child and may neglect their own needs. Mother’s Day can be a reminder for them to take care of themselves, emphasising the importance of self-care and relaxation.
Creating Memories: Celebrating Mother’s Day during pregnancy adds to the treasure trove of memories that the mother can look back on fondly. It’s a beautiful way to commemorate the pregnancy period as a time of joy and anticipation.
Boosting Mental Health: Positive experiences can have a beneficial impact on mental health. Being the centre of affection and attention on Mother’s Day can boost the expectant mother’s mood, reduce stress, and contribute to a positive pregnancy experience.
Acknowledging Her Efforts and Sacrifices: Pregnancy involves numerous physical and emotional sacrifices. Recognising these efforts on Mother’s Day is a way of showing appreciation for all that she is doing to bring a new life into the world.

Christmas is coming for a pregnant mum, but the alcohol, blue cheese and egg nog are out. So, it’s about time we found some pregnancy gifts that mum can actually enjoy. But what gifts can be given to a pregnant lady during Christmas? Whether you’re scouring Etsy for handmade gifts, Amazon for same-day/next day delivery, or supporting small businesses to find special personalised gifts, I’ve got you covered.
Below is a list of gorgeous gifts for expectant mothers which also double up as a great baby shower pregnancy Christmas gift guide too!
Products for morning sickness relief
If mum is newly pregnant, then pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, can be physically taxing on the body. So one of the best gifts for pregnant women is something to curb that nasty nausea! After five pregnancies, I have my running favourites, which may not always be healthy, but they have got me through the brutal sickness. These are:
Sour strawberry laces (ok, not so healthy)
Avocado with lots of lemon and salt (healthy-ish)
Ginger and Lemon tea (healthy)
Sour Morning sickness sweets (these are my favourite, especially the sour raspberry flavour!)
Getting a pregnancy pillow will not only provide mum with the comfort that she needs but it will protect the baby and allow the body to pass maximum nutrients to the growing body.
There are lots of different types of pregnancy pillows out there but the best one I’ve tried from experience is the total body pillow that protects both front and back and provides comfort between the legs too to prevent hip pain.
Some great expectant mother gifts can include belly butter for that growing bump! One of my favourite kinds of belly butter is Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising lotion, which you can buy from Amazon here. This belly butter helped to prevent stretch marks on my belly, even with big babies! So I would definitely include it in the Christmas gift list!
If you’re buying for a pregnant friend, then a pregnancy journal or pregnancy planner can make for a great present as the journal allows mum to record her journey from positive pregnancy test to her due date and ultimately birth to even baby’s first Christmas! Plus, it can double up as a book to read during down times too!
Adding a nursing cover to the Christmas gift box is ideal for mums who want that extra bit of privacy when breastfeeding in public. But sometimes nursing covers can get restrictive for both mum and baby so this Eclipse Nursing Privacy Cover above (in Fairy Tree) from Bellamoon* is structured in such a way that it doesn’t swamp or cling to your baby, so they can enjoy a feed in a private airy space and without any distraction. It’s easy to put on and take off – you simply loop the strap over your head and you have a protective barrier to shield any leaks, sprays and exposure while still allowing you to have a full view of your gorgeous baby.
With fluctuating body sizes, mum will need some comfy pregnancy and nursing bras to keep her comfortable during feeding times. Add a pop of colour to mum’s wardrobe by gifting her a limited-edition Lipstick Ballet Bravado Designs nursing bra*, which is the perfect stay-at-home nursing sleep bra for those cosy sofa days during Christmas. Its pull-on styling with no back closure means that it provides light support for lounging and sleeping, plus it’s ideal for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond! RRP is £26.00 and you can also find other colours here.

This award-winning luxury hamper (we were gifted the blue hamper) which can be personalised by adding the baby’s name, is a gorgeous and practical gift for mum and new baby.

Newborn Gift Box
Once the baby comes, you may look for a nice congratulations present for the baby. I recently ordered this beautiful Baby Boy gift set for a friend of mine who just had a baby boy and I love it so much, I had to include it in the Christmas gift list (I just hope she doesn’t see this guide before she gets her present next week!)
Baby carriers are great because not only do they promote close contact with the baby but they all ensure that mum’s arms are free so she can actually get other things done. There are so many different types of baby carriers around, but I love the Izmi Baby Carrier* because it supports development in three ways:
Movement
When carried, babies experience an automatic, deep relaxation which does more than soothes them, it actually helps to reduce stress and aids digestion.
Oxytocin
Oxytocin is the hormone which is linked to love and connection which is released in both men and women during positive interaction and contact with their baby.
Skin to Skin
Skin to skin contact can boost Oxytocin levels but it has also been shown to stabilise your baby’s heart rate, breathing and temperature.
The Izmi baby carrier is also adaptable and combines the functionalities of a soft structured fabric sling with the support of a buckled carrier to support baby from newborn to 18 months old, which means you can enjoy ample cosy quality time together with baby!
