Happi Feet Product Review

I have three boys at home. Ok, granted, two of them are under 3 ½ years old and one of them is my husband, but their array of shoes in our shoe closet can get a bit pongy at times. So, when I was offered the chance to review a pair of Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners, I was keen to try them out.

However, I ended up trying them on my Ugg Boots instead! Go figure…

The Happi Feet Range:

Within my Happi Feet box, I found a ‘Scratch ‘N’ Sniff’ card, displaying the range of fragrances Happi Feet offer, which I thought was a really cool idea to find out which smell you wanted to try before buying.

I asked my boys to help me decide which fragrance smelled the best. We all had differing views!

Happi Feet Air Freshener

We were offered one pair of ‘Freshly Laundered’ Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners to try out. I loved the Happi Feet package the shoe fresheners came in. It was so well thought out, descriptive and innovative that the boys and I actually sat down to study the box first. The box opens up into a little house situated on ‘Happi St.’, and a pair of Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners are peeking through the open door saying, ‘Welcome home!’ The detail is amazing as the stairway leading upstairs looks 3D.

The Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners were enclosed in equally detailed packaging with more information about the product and how to use it.

When I opened up the packet and took out the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners, I was taken aback by how strong they smelled. It wasn’t an unpleasant smell, or overbearing, but it was definitely noticeable. The Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners are shaped like a 2D pair of trainers, so in case you were still wondering what to do with them, the design should have given you a clue at this point.

You take the straps, attached to the shoe fresheners, and place them under the heel or over the tongue to allow the inset to hover just above the sole of your shoe. So, that’s what I did! Not to my ‘scented’ boys’ shoes, but to my new Ugg Boots (because they’re special).

Over the course of the week, I tried out the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners on my Ugg Boots and my husband’s work shoes. The results were very impressive. The ‘Freshly Laundered’ smell did linger for a while in our shoe closet after I had removed the shoe fresheners and placed them back in their resealable packaging (to preserve their ‘freshness’). I even braved the unexpected and caught a whiff of my husband’s shoes (I know, is she mad!?), and the fragrance from the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners had totally overpowered the original smell in the shoes (I’m being diplomatic as to the wording – let’s not be mean now.)

The fragrance from the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners lasted the whole week and I will be trialling them to see if they can last the whole 6 weeks. So far, so good!

What did I like most about the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners?

I think we all liked the very unique and well-thought-out design of the packaging, which entices you to try out the Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners, and the fact that, at £2.60 a pair, you can have fresh shoes for up to 6 weeks, well, that’s a bargain, isn’t it? I am very tempted to try out a pair of Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners in my car, but I wouldn’t be able to hang them over the rear-view mirror, as they could be quite a distraction when driving. But, if hidden away, they’ll make air fresheners for cupboards, cars, shoe closets, and pretty much anything that needs a bit of a smell check. I’ve just had an idea! Hang them in the bathroom, next to the toilet!

What to watch out for:

This hasn’t happened to me, but I can imagine that those with sensitive noses may experience a light headache when sniffing the shoe fresheners as much as I did. The smell is addictive, but it’s probably not a good idea to whiff them for 6 weeks. Just leave them in the shoes and enjoy the smell that lingers afterwards.

Other points to note:

Don’t forget that you have 3 other fragrances available, and I will be trying all of these out, especially the Madagascan Vanilla.

Maybe I’m going soft in my old age, but I can’t think of anything wrong with these Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners. They do what they say on the packaging and they managed to make my hubby’s shoes smell nice – enough said!
