What is Pabobo all about?

Pabobo started from when the founder, Olivier, became a dad to his son, Louis. Early on, Louis started wanting to get up by himself at night, but he was scared of the dark. Olivier, and his two friends, Philippe and Sรฉbastien, who joined Pabobo at a later date, came up with an idea for a reassuring little light that Louis could carry around anywhere. Clever, totally safe, and easy for even the smallest hands to use: The first Nomade nightlight was invented, with the Pabobo qualities built in already.
Moving on, Pabobo now has a staff of twelve people in their Paris office, and they work with top artists, designers and model-makers to produce and distribute Pabobo lights via 3,000 sales outlets in 20 countries.
What does the name, ‘Pabobo’ (Pah-bo-bow) mean? Bรฉbรฉ Prudence, Pababo’s very first creation, was simply designed to teach little ones how to grow up safely, so they could discover the world without any boos boos.

Review:
I was very pleased to receive the Pabobo Dream Theater for review because I’ve had a lot of trouble with my boys settling straight away at bed time. To be honest, my youngest, Aidan, loves his bedtime and will do whatever he can to sleep straight away. Aron, on the other hand, will fight tooth and nail to stay awake and sometimes it takes me up to 3 hours to get him to sleep at night. My evening has gone and I’m left weary and frustrated. I dream of nights where I can whisper, ‘Good night’ to the boys and leave the room, so they can settle themselves. But in the 3 ยฝ years I’ve been a mother, this has only happened once.
In came the chance to review the Pabobo Dream Theater, a contraption that promises to ‘make bed-time more peaceful’.
The boys and I opened the box together and there was the main night light, a wall mount, to mount the Dream Theater to the wall, the socket cable, transformer cable, and a manual.
I didn’t check the manual before I plugged the Dream Theater in because it’s pretty simple to put together and work out its functions. The cable with the socket plugs into the transformer cable, which plugs into the Dream Theater.
When you press the main button, the Dream Theater lights up and cute animals start rotating around the Dream Theater in a nice, ambient light.
There is a wall mount that you can attach to the Dream Theater, but I didn’t use it and ended up placing the Dream Theater nearer to the centre of the bedroom floor.
There are three different audio settings on the Dream Theater. One short push and the lights turn on. Second short push and the Dream Theater plays a very sweet, relaxing lullaby that even lulls me into sleep, and the third short push brings about animal sounds (mainly birds), which I found a little annoying. When you hold the button for at least 5 seconds the Dream Theater turns off, but the music naturally turns off after 15 minutes and then the product itself after 45 minutes, so this setting would be quite useful for those, like my eldest, who likes silence to go to sleep, but needs some visual stimulation to switch off his mind. My youngest loved the lullaby, and none of us liked the ‘sounds of nature’.
The secondary, smaller button on the transformer activates Sleep mode. In this mode, the Dream Theater will automatically turn on if it records a noise for more than 4 seconds.
The top of the Dream Theater is where the magic happens. There are lots of little gaps, which allows the light to be reflected onto the ceiling.
The result is a rotating groups of light that circulate slowly around the ceiling.
To be brutally honest, I’m not too sure why the images are broken up by all the little gaps, as I feel it would have been far more beneficial to aid sleep time if my boys could see full images of the animals going by. The effect of the Dream Theater is nice and relaxing, but as I was staring at my ceiling one night to see whether the Dream Theater would help me go to sleep, I was trying to make out the animals between the gaps and I ended up concentrating on the Dream Theater’s images rather than trying to rest my brain. But, perhaps, that’s because I’m an adult.
Having said all of that, I still really like the Dream Theater. Aidan, my youngest, wanted to have it on every night and Aron wasn’t interested even in the visual effects. As they both sleep in the same room, this caused quite a few arguments, so I ended up not using the Dream Theater to help them get to sleep.
I love the lullaby, it’s very soothing and I do like the reflection the Dream Theater gives off. After everything that is said, it is still a nice tool to help you sleep better and I think Aidan would really have benefitted from using it to settle him to sleep every night.
Here is a video of the Pabobo Dream Theater in action:
What did I like most about Pabobo Dream Theater?
Both Aidan and I loved the beautiful lullaby and the images are soothing. I like the fact that you can activate Sleep mode with a click of a button.
What to watch out for:
The Dream Theater turns on in the mode you left it before it turned off. So, if you have it on Sleep mode before the product turned off and you don’t want it to turn on automatically during the night when it hears a noise, you better turn off that secondary button before you leave the room.
Other points to note:
The Dream Theater is not suitable for children under 36 months.
Rating:
3.5 out of 5 โ It is a great product to help aid sleep, but I just think that the reflection could show more whole images, rather than lots of little gaps.

I have been quite lucky with my children and no problems going to bed. They have a nice bath then it’s chill time and read a few stories before going to bed
I call it my three ‘B’s routine: Bath, Book, Bed! Simples!
a story
We have story time in bed with soft lighting. Once story time is over my little one listens to lullabies which works a treat
A Bedtime Story
A cuddle and a story
My daughter loves her bed, we sing a nursery rhyme and she virtually goes straight to sleep
Reading and quiet time.
